  1. The Hab's better not trade prospect Bryce Pickford . He is killing it with the Medicine Hat Tigers as a d-man !

  2. I think there is a different reason Kirby is on line 1 for awhile. Coach is getting the players to move up and down to learn new stuff from different players. Anyone who plays up front with Nick and Cole are gonna get points and learn even more.

  3. Kirby Dach has found a home. Hopefully he continues to ride this high and display the combination of creativity and execution he has lately.
Barring injury Dach is shaping up to have a great final 3rd of the season and into the playoffs.
    Exciting times.

  4. Most likely yes, but even if no, doesn't mean they did not try. We never know the total sum of every offers sent/received and the trades that didn't work out.

  5. I don’t think we should do anything. Why pay to get rid of Patrick if he is off the books in the summer. No need to rush this. Wait till the draft

  6. Kirby looks great…Did you guys see him set up Gally's goal vs Jets last night!!!! Puck gets tipped & Kirby kicks it to his stick & taps it over to Gally in one smooth move for the open netter!!!! Great play by Kirby!!!!
If he stays healthy he can be a HUGE contributor to the Habs' success.
Re: Xhekaj & Struble…..both are defensive liabilities at times. I like keeping Arber for his muscle & grit. BUT….in the playoffs….those guys will not see the ice much. Habs can't afford to have shaky "D" at crunch time.
I am AMAZED at the job Gorton & Hughes have done with the Habs in such a short period of time. The rebuild is progressing so well. They have a 6-8 year window to win the Cup. The 6-8 years is based on the contracts of their young stars. Time to grow & mature & win NOW!!!!
    Boooyyyyaaahh!!!!!!
    Go Habs!!!!!

  7. Problem is that a team may determine what kind of move they want to make at the start of February, but then fail to react to changes made by opposing teams at the deadline. They need to anticipate what moves their likely competition in the playoffs might make. Xhekaj are essential for any playoff run and Habs need to work on his weaknesses so that he is where they want him to be. I see a need for a big defensive d-man and for a big (Tom Wilson) type RW for the top line for the playoff stretch. They need to decide what they want to do with Laine, Newhook and a few other players as well as determining whether giving up a prospect (maybe Rheinbacher or Tuch) will get them one or both of the players they need..

  8. Problem is not any particular d-man, but rather the fact that the existing players are making too many bad passes and giveaways that have cost the team. That can be worked on, but we may need a backup that can ease Matheson's game time

  9. No need for another D once the 23 man roster goes out of play you bring up Engstrom and you have you 6 def for the playoffs

  10. So far Dach has averaged 35 games per year and 7 goals per year for the Habs. One more knee injury and it's over for him. He should be traded if he has any value. USD $435,000.00 per goal is not good enough, and one more knee injury…

No Arber on the ice in the playoff and our tiny man-boys will have a terrible time if we make the playoffs.

  11. They don't need much really, with the guys coming back from injury. I wouldn't mind someone like Ryan O'Reilly, but not at the cost of 3 pieces they want for him. Don't want Kyrou, don't want anyone from NYR, don't want Kadri, no one from Preds. I would trade 4 high end pieces though for Lundell out of Florida, but he'd never go. What are they gonna do with all that talent in New Jersey?

  12. You guys keep mentioning top six player add,who are you going to take out of the top six a player who has carried this team to where they are now,do you think the person being demoted is going to be happy or his liemates, this isn't how you build a team show some loyalty to the players who got us here and knock off the bullshit, this team needs bottom six players we already have our future secure in our top six

  13. Dach is great……..when he plays. His injuries lead me to want to trade him. We can get another power forward to play with Nick and Cole, one who can play 70+ games per year. For the D-core, I'd like to see an upgrade on the right side. Someone with size and a mean streak for the playoffs.

  14. 100% disagree with you guys. Montreal is one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL. That 3rd pairing is bad. As much as I like Xhekaj and Struble, I would move one of them out for a big stud LHD or RHD that can clear the net. Montreal really has to fix this. Time to take the blinders off, everything is not perfect on the third pair. Love the videos guys.

  15. Honestly a D man with legitimate acumen formally killing could be traded for. Weakest part of the team is penalty kill. Yup. Could see it.

  16. Struble and Xhekaj isn't a stability problem at all… It's a matter of having solid depth. Both are playing in case one of the top-5 is injured (probably Guhle). Habs still looked good on D when both were playing.

  17. A trade i would like to see is us giving Reinbacher struble and a draft pick for Colton parayko which would be a big gain for our blue line

  18. I don't think they will make drastic changes, there are some fundamental mistakes that need more attention but they are playing pretty well. Why screw it up.

  19. I highly doubt Hughes and Gorton would get another defenseman by the trade deadline. A lot of noob fans bantering around the stupidity of getting another RHD, especially a shutdown….good luck. Trade deadline is the most expensive time of the year. Any notable RHD literally has a prospect RHD or a center plus usually a 1st round pick or something else of significance. Good RHD rarely hit the market for trade.

  20. they need stability. stop changing lines all the time. let the guys play with each other long enough to build chemistry

  21. Being a high scoring team in the regular season is fun and all, but it does nothing for you in the playoffs. FACT. You need a complete team defence with large powerful defenders in the back end. Hudson is great to get you there. I don’t and won’t have any playoff faith in him or his size until proven otherwise. The Habs are currently very good, but unless we somehow manage to draw the Leafs for the first 3 rounds. We won’t be going very deep. Honestly I feel we’d be extremely lucky to get past the 1st round. Management has to shore up the back end with defenders not point seekers.
