For a second straight game, the Nashville Predators fail to survive the first minute of overtime, dropping a 3-2 result to the New Jersey Devils in extra time. Tuesday, the Predators lost 15 seconds into overtime to the Boston Bruins. On Thursday, it was Nico Hershiser who scored 43 seconds into the extra period to give the Devils the win over the Predators. As a result, five players, Michael McCarron, Cole Smith, Jonathan Marchessault, Nick Perbix and Adam Wilsby put in a strong positive and negative output in the game that their impact ended up even out. Fedor Svechkov was also assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals after getting injured in Tuesday’s game against Boston.

Cole Smith was absolutely awful last night! He cost us the game.
