Love the Habs, and this was a fairly good game. But can someone please explain to me why the defence, and forwards, too, all keep backing in and backing in? I know you don't want to get caught, but what should've been stopped at the blueline is now a chance from the faceoff circle hashmark. Drives me nuts.

Montembeault was sharp in the first period. The Jets were throwing a lot of shots at him but he kept the Habs in the game. He's looking much better. Good to see Gallagher and Anderson tally three points apiece in this win.

Really nice assist from the ref at the end there. Most refs would play the boards to avoid getting hit by a puck shot at the empty net, but through careful lack of situational awareness, he finds himself at the wrong place at the wrong time. Outstanding play.
