The problem with Huberdeau is not the management Past or Present. If you want to lay the blame for the Flames and their history. You just have to look at the current ownership group past and present. Do you remember the Gilmour trade? Do you remember the trade involving Theo Fleury? You wonder why players wind up leaving. Calgary has a loyal fan base. That stream of income still comes in regardless of what position or how the Flames perform. The ownership group, past and present, base business decisions knowing that the only professional sports team at a Premier level is here in Calgary. They come regardless! There is no pressure on them. Then again, the GM should be in full controll of the team. That is not necessarily the case. Hence, this is why you have and get a bad contract and therefore a sub par player like Huberdeau.

That was so bush league it is hard to believe a veteran NHL player would even try it. On pace for 39 points and an on-ice liability. I think he plays out this year, but next year I would put him in the minors and hope he asks for contract termination.

Surrounded by four players, no one really to pass to. He’s a playmaker, not a dump in the corner player. He’s a run and gun style player, and use to talent around him. Like Bennet who just got called to team Canada! Barkov etc. He probably wants a chance at a cup, which he knows ain’t happening in Calgary!
