EVERYTHING just changed for the Blue Jackets…

Patrick Nilan discusses the turn around of the Columbus Blue Jackets as they have now won 9 of 10 games, and have only lost one game since hiring Rick Bowness as the new coach. With Zach Werenski playing like he deserves the Norris and Kent Johnson stepping up, they now have a legit chance of making the playoffs in a tight eastern conference.

  1. Beat Dallas, & Tampa & Philly on this streak..Cale Makar is the best defenseman, But Zack is better this year.. Columbus will come in 2nd or 3rd in the metropolitan!!

  2. Jenner will never be traded. Ever. Jackets got lots of cap space and some interesting pieces. Waddell might make moves. Big question is in net because Greaves has shown excellent form but is young and unproven. Elvis can get emotional and blow up at times.

Coyle has been amazing. Marchment was a great pickup and been physical which gives Olivier a break. Sillinger has been lowkey the star doing the dirty work.

  3. Zach is good. But I want to throw out that getting. Miles Wood, Marchment, and Coyle are huge reasons this team is improving. Also Rick Bowness is changing the lines and playing the younger stars more. All of this plus veterans playing there role is a phenomenal improvement. Don Waddell has improved this locker room beyond recognition.

  4. 1:43 The thing about this is that this goes beyond the "new coach bump" statistically. That usually ends up being about a .568 winning percentage in the first 10 games, the Jackets are 8-1 under Bowness. Obviously that level isn't sustainable, but if they can play at that .610-ish points percentage of for the rest of the season, they will likely catch the isles, and possibly even move up past the Bruins or the Pens points wise, depending on how those teams finish out their seasons. Great vid!

  5. Kent Johnson stepping up eh? #324 in the league in pts. Is it too much to ask a former #5 pick to be in the top 10 point getters on tier own team? I guess Evason should have played for Johnson.
