Alex Nedeljkovic STAKES Claim to Sharks Net as Macklin Celebrini Breaks “SLUMP”

San Jose Sharks silence the New York Rangers with Macklin Celebrini’s electric breakout and Alex Nedeljkovic’s dominance between the pipes. Is the Shark Tank roaring its way back into playoff contention?

JD Young breaks down San Jose’s pivotal 3-1 victory, spotlighting Celebrini’s two-goal redemption and Nedeljkovic’s fifth straight win as the apparent starter. The analysis covers Michael Misa’s rapid development, critical contributions from key lines like Wennberg and Regenda, and Dmitry Orlov’s defensive heroics against star Rangers skaters. Insights include the Sharks’ improved killer instinct, special teams’ resurgence, and possible lineup shifts with Philipp Kurashev’s return and Ryan Reaves’ uncertain status. Can the Sharks maintain this momentum and rewrite their playoff script?

  1. I absolutely love Ned but man, I need to see more from Asky. I understand he’s a rookie and goaltending is so random, but I’d love to see him like he was in November again. I’d feel better about him starting

  2. Asky isn’t supposed to be consistent in his first full year. That’s the whole point 😂. We got him for his ceiling and he’s a few years away from that

  3. Was at the tank tonight and the feeling in the first period was absolutely electric. Up there with the final period of the NYE game against the Wild where they also had the MVP chants going. Feels great after going to probably 15 games last year without a single win.

  4. Good points JD. One thing I would add is I like how the Sharks are doing a better job defending against the odd man rushes. NY had a few more than you like to see, but the Sharks back checked fairly well.

  5. Good for Ned.
But watch they’ll be trying to move Asky down the road to get rid of him. Sad for Asky 😔

  6. Great win! But goodness gracious can we take Klingberg out of the power play?! The sharks’ power play was popping whenever Orlov was in.

  7. The last eight games.

Nedeljkovic plays the first game of a back to back.
The Sharks play well in front of him.

Askarov plays fairly well, but loses the second game of the back to back.
The Sharks play poorly in front of him.

Easily to see the trend there.

They're giving Nedeljkovic the easier starts and tasking Askarov with the harder opponents.

  8. A team needs only one hot goalie at a time. That goalie can change from week to week or month to month. But as long as one is going, you ride that guy and play him roughly 2/3 of the games. The guy who isn't hot still needs to play, just less.

  9. If mack finishes top 3 in points goals and or assists he needs mvp. Teenager doing those numbers give him his recognition. Sharks going to playoffs why not

  10. I think Ned and Asky should still play every other game. Asky was playing great then Warso overplayed him and he started to leak goalies. Both of them should be in that 38-44 games range by game 82.

  11. Asky is this teams number 1. Ned is doing his Mac jones impression which we all love, but asky is playing against the starting goalies opps. Ned is a stud and I want them splitting time normally between a starter and backup for a mid team. Asky is the goalie or the future, we’re not winning a cup this year. Cutting his minutes is shortsighted and dumb
