  1. He's gotten a lot of shit, but he's a solid veteran player on a team with a lot of young defense players.

One thing I really like about him is his physicality. He regularly pushes the other teams players down. Pushes them past the blue line if they get too close. He sticks up for players on the team. The physicality is one of those aspects that needs to be cultivated for the redwings.

I think it's a great contract for both the player and the team.

  2. It's a different sport, but analytics would tell you that Josh Allen is the best player in the NFL, and his team should be a shoe-in to win the Superbowl every year. Yet, they hardly get to the AFCCG, nonetheless the Superbowl. They're a part of the puzzle but cannot be the sole arbiter of your opinions. Chariot brings value that the analytics can't show you. Live Sports are not simulations, they're not video games. These are real people, with emotions. Leadership, experience, grit, they matter.

  3. good video man, i didnt like this extension at first but the more i look at it the more i think its pretty smart and makes sense

a guy like chiarot is great in the locker room, and at 3.85 million on 3 years i really would of wanted a year less but after some thinking, best case scenario he transitions into a reliable 3rd pairing guy alongside aljo or something and worst case scenario we buy him out of his contract if things get really bad so i do think its a solid future proofing move from yzerman but i really want to see us make a move for a big name, we got something great going on and the players deserve a meaningful addition to finish strong and end the playoff drought

  4. I've been defending him for 3.5 seasons now. No one had an issue with him at the start of his and Lalonde's first season, then the team started to come down to Earth and he got hate as a result of the team not being good. That reputation stuck with him, when combined with his analytics, and it's only now that the team is at its best since he came along that people are mostly accepting him. He's been the same player all 4 years. Few mistakes, and very few egregious mistakes. Skates well, hits and blocks shots, can keep a play alive in the offensive zone. I guarantee if the Wings were an even better team during these last few years, he'd have even fewer haters.

  5. Guys who solely focus on analytics over actual sports integrity are probably just secretly addicted to sports gambling aps.

  6. When the playoffs come around and other players stay away from Chiarot's side of the crease you will appreciate him being on your team.
