Can the Senators make a run towards the postseason? How should the Senators handle the trade deadline? TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.
I think for a reasonable chance to get in, theyll need 40 points out of the last 29 games. As long as they can get average goaltending, stay disciplined, and improve their special teams, theres no reason to believe they cant make a run. Just need to take it one game at a time and keep piling on the wins

The question that forms the title of the TSN SportsCentre excerpt is interesting. The Sens have some aspects that may make them A tough out in a conference quarterfinals, but getting there is the other part of the battle. James Reimer stopped 16 of 18 Avs’ shots while the Sens scored 3 goals on 21 shots they had taken on Mackenzie Blackwood. Where did the other two goals come from? Empty-netters, with the former and latter goals scored at the respective 17:44 and 18:53 marks of period 3. That game, excluding those last two goals, was close, and I see streaky scoring continuing to likely be a problem for the Sens.
No, they can't make the playoffs if the teams they're chasing keep winning. Montreal, Boston and Buffalo all won tonight. I do hope they prove me wrong though.

If any team can do it, it would be Ottawa. Their identity will always be the pesky sens

They'll need Ullmark to come back soon and consistently provide above average goaltending. It's possible, but they dug themselves quite a hole
I highly doubt it. Even if they get better help in goal, their pk will continue to be what kills them.

stick with team through Olympic break?
Yes.
I hope, but goaltending has to be consistent.
They won one game and their dressing room is like a episode of the bachelorette
