  1. @Tough Call – what's your definition of "malicious"? Wilson is focussed on tracking Stankoven from 4 seconds before the hit. Do we have to be guessing what Wilson is thinking in order to properly punish him?

  2. Wilson is a serial offender. This was a pre-meditated, predatory hit to the head. Given Wilson's record – 20 games minimum.

  3. Tom Wilson and cheap players like him is why today’s soft hockey needs more fighters. Police themselves and get a body off the ice ref wise to give more space.

  4. I dont understand how this is any different from the trouba hit on leonard, in which you said that hit was fine. Both trouba and wilson were lining up to contact the shoulder and both stankoven and leonard turned their head around at the last second, leading to the head contact. Would love an explanation as to how you think one is ok while the other is not.

  5. In real hockey. It’s clean. Stankoven is a midget especially compared to Wilson. If they were the same height it would have been right into his chest. What do you want Wilson to do? Play on his knees? The suggestion that he should have not finished this hit or that he should have somehow not made head contact is really just saying that you want a softer gayer brand of hockey to be played.

  6. Have to agree with Trip Tracy's assessment that at a minimum it was interference. When that call is made, then there is no goal.

  7. To me a body check with shoulder head contact would be predominately going through the body, whereas I see this as a shoulder to the head with minimal body contact. This hit I would say is suspension worthy.

  8. There should be a 2nd man in rule. The guy is already being chased by one player when wilson begins his 4 stride windup knowing the guy is focused on the other guy.. its no different than fighting and you get jumped from behind from another guy at the same time.
