Hi – diehard Stars fan. It’s simple. He fails the eye test. There’s a thought, especially for his frame, he’s not physical enough. His scoring almost seems fluky and is dependent on others doing the dirty work to get him the puck. He’s also not a great skater, so that just looks uncoordinated. But. The results speak for themselves. Rantanen looks like $12 mil and Robertson often does not.
Also, maybe a weird gripe – he celebrates too much only for himself. Next time you watch them, he only will celebrate if he puts it in, not if anyone else does. I have questioned whether he wants to win more than score goals.
It’s clearly that, when they have Wyatt Johnston as well putting up 28 goals and he’s 22, I’d rather pay that guy than 8 more years of Robertson at 26. He’s going to ask for $12mil for sure and I think Dallas would rather just recreate him with a cheaper player than keep sinking money into guys. They paid Seguin, that didn’t really work, they paid Benn and didn’t win, can’t pay everyone. They still have Seguin and Duchene on the books. They don’t want to be lik Toronto. 1 really good defenceman and the rest of the money is put on 4-5 forwards with not a lot of depth in the bottom 6
u actually think they will trade their best player ? especially with where Dallas is of course they will keep him.. Matt duchene would be my first to go

I hope if Dallas trades him away, Robo signs with the Oilers or better yet Colorado so Colorado can reverse Rantanen style on Dallas.
