Trade murashov
The bigger issue is what will eventually happen with Skinner. Silovs can easily be let go or traded as, despite good recent numbers, no Penguins fan has confidence in him one on one or in shootouts.
I want Stu to stay, he fits in great!
As long as skinner is asking for a fair deal, I would 100% resign him. A tandem of Skinner and Murashov would be ideal and would allow Murashov the chance to fully develop before taking on the full time role.
Either Blom or Silovs would have to get moved but not both. Dubas has made it very clear he likes competition and I believe he will always want at least 3 capable NHL tendies.
The more I watch Stu the more I like him… There's a lot of hockey to be played between now and April. And this team seems destined to make it back to the playoffs this year. Who knows what happens there. You are probably correct about Stu. He's 27. About to become UFA. It's tough for goalies so I can only imagine he'll likely end up going to free agency. But this guy is so easy to like. And he's been really great ever since the first 3 games.
For Stu it definitely depends how much he asks for imo we just got out of a bad contract with Jarry and imo Skinners an easy guy to overpay by a lot. Hes been good lately but his track record just doesnt have enough consistency to it that we give him a big contract I mean itd obviously be more than 2m but if we have to pay him close to what we gave Jarry we're asking for another disaster. We all know the Pens are betting on Murashov as our future and I think by next year hes played in the ahl long enough.
Not a bad problem to have
It is both! EDM you compete for the crease you play as long as you are hot, even to the point of exhaustion. Oilers D sucked in front of him. The Oilers organization is built around McDrai. I followed Stu to the Pens.
Pittsburgh has always had a culture of winning. The players are bought in on the same goal. I think they're gonna retain a lot of guys, especially if the playoff run is deep.
