You’re spot on with the lack of killer instinct. I lost faith in the group after they gave up the 3-0 lead to Chicago in November (?) – they can be good no question about it. But they will never win silverware with that lack of bite.

This congested schedule although the same for every team is definitely going to have taken a toll on younger players. In a normal season 82 games is so many games but the way they've been squished before the Olympics probably goes some way to explaining the amount of injuries league wide. The next couple of weeks will be so handy for players not chosen for international duty to recharge & heal before the end period of the regular season. It'll be important to stay sharp however for the play-off push.
This game was a one and done game. One shot no rebound and if a rebound no one around. And usually not a high danger shot either. Did veal turn back to his career norm? And nothing on strome being benched after being benched during the last game? Chances on a big trade by Olympic break? Ranger west, just saying.
Bad game. Now we move on lol hopefully we can get the last couple wins before break!
I love how in the span of like a week the ducks have beaten the best team and lost to the worst team. That’s the ducks for you.
This was such a good defensive game for the ducks in my opinion. And if they DO get into the playoffs they are gonna have to play it safe if they want to advance, but obviously they have to score a few times. I also felt like the nucks were playing a pretty dirty game and the refs weren’t calling most of it. But at least it was an exciting goalie faceoff game!!
This team has given me both extreme hope and rage during this season. Smh
