Warsofsky is our weak link
At least they got a point. Mistakes are part of the process, even for the coach. It takes time and experience to close out games. If they learn that, there will be no overtime. Last season this much more of a problem.
We will learn from this it’s a teachable moment for this team
He took zero accountability and then blamed will smith for not playing well last night…. Can’t make this shit up. He has to be fired
A loss like this is going to kill the team's confidence. Wouldn't be surprised if we go on a losing streak and end up missing the playoffs because of it. Warsofsky has to go. He consistently loses this team games and takes zero accountability for it.
Maybe have ned play as well, asky played good two days ago, but you can't let the hot hand aka ned right now get cold,
I actually supported the decision (in OT only) tbh. With McDavid and Draisaitl out there in OT, I would’ve put 2 D. But I probably would’ve put Orlov and Lili/Ferraro instead
Great Podcast guys. Love it😊
I never been a fan of taking the foot off the pedal when winning by a couple of goals because it can come back and bite you like it did
This was a hard lose, but I keep reminding myself. This is a young team including the coach. I am so happy how well they have done this season, I can no imagine all the pressure the entire team is feeling right now.
That's ok, Warsofsky will learn from it. Liljegren turn over was inexcusable.
Sharks aren't as good as their record as they get lots of their 2 points in OT (11-0-4). They still need a couple of years to mature, and a couple of additional stud D FAs.
He didn’t even coach not to lose!
He literally looked at an offense that includes 2 of the top 5 scorers in the league and said “I’ll bet our defense can fend off your offense”
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?
Is that really worth the risk? “Hey I know it’s a gamble but IF it pays off, then we get to lineup cele and toff/smith/wenn etc against THEIR second ot unit!”
Except their defensive or second ot unit is gonna be nowhere near as bad defensively as the unit the sharks put out last night, so it’s not even like you’re forcing them into an equal or more beneficial risk.
It just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m not an nhl coach like warso and I’m just Monday morning quarterbacking but man was that baffling to see.
You got to give McDavid and Oilers a bit more credit than that. Come on now
A bit of explanation would be helpful….
Technically, Tim Liljegren did.
