The Rangers’ retooling is officially underway and the first domino has fallen. Mollie Walker and Brian Boyle break down the Carson Soucy trade to the Islanders, why the rare cross-town deal mattered. But that’s just the beginning. With the Rangers clearly open for business, the conversation quickly turns to the looming Artemi Panarin trade. Why Panarin was held out, what it signals about the team’s direction, and which teams are lining up with real interest including a team that MAY SURPRISE YOU! 1. Please STOP with re-tool stuff. Sullivan's son-in-law was why Soucy went to the Island. Panarin is a good regular-season player, but he doesn't play D, and he was invisible come playoff time. This podcast sounds like an obituary. Boo hoo, Panarin is leaving.
Stop it Chuckles, you're driving me insane. This team drives me insane. You guys are driving me insane. Panarin makes 10 million a year, he'll get no sympathy from my end. One more thing, stop using players' first names, it's not professional.
That's it for now, I miss Brooks, u 2 need a third wheel.

  2. Hey Mollie, you going to block me on here if you disagree with my comments?!? Seems to be your Modus Operandi…

  3. Not much to really say at this point. Everyone knows the curtains have closed for this season. If Rangers trade Panarin to San Jose, I would love Misa but that's not realistic, so I would say Ekuland and 1st, but even that might not be realistic. If Rangers trade Panarin to Washington, Hutson has to be included in the trade package, that's non negotiable for me. Will be interesting to see where Panarin goes, and if either or both Trocheck and Schneider will be still around post trade deadline.

  4. he put up a lot of points ,but never played defense like most of the talented Russian players .. It's time to go . Good player

  5. this is gonna be another waste. Trying to take a shortcut and do a ''retool' instead of taking the time to do a proper rebuild. Just put the next 3-4-5 years behind us and do a ground up rebuild. We have no one to retool around. Panarin been my favorite since he came to the Rangers in 2019. Ima miss his style of play. But i hope he goes to a team that has a chance to get him a cup. That's all he needs. If only he stayed with Chicago with Patrick Kane. Tehh, his career would've been goated.

  6. boy Drury has no choice but to hit a homerun…draftpicks, prospects, young players with promise can not justify replacing bread

  7. Miss having Boyler out there. Absolutely blows being a Rangers fan. Rangers are a show team, a few stars to fill the seats. We never tool up to actually win, just good enough to sell tickets.

  8. Felt low all year after watching this team. Knowing now AP10 has scored his last goal as a Ranger was just depressing. No matter who this clown upstairs thinks he will replace you with, they wont be good enough. Farewell Artemi, we hardly knew ye.

  9. 🚨🚨🚨OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨🚨🚨

Spencer Martin for Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award. I'm voting for Spencer he deserves it. To be playing in the KHL at the beginning of the season to accepting a role as the back up of an AHL team. Now he is starting games for NYR in the NHL, that's extra effort. Plus, plus, plus, nobody else on this squad deserves it. Maybe Carrick. No, we need to send a message.

  10. Good to point out the good "business side" of the Soucy trade. I wish someone got the Boyle and nacho man interaction on film haha, what a fool trying to heckle in that scenario. And that looks like the warmest sweater ever fabricated haha, I gotta find one of those to get through this frozen month!

  11. We have a “generational talent “ to build around too I thought? 6 years later he is still too slow, too soft and too winded.

  12. MOLLIE! Stop the smiling! What is wrong with this person? I don't see her as informed or even interesting. yeech.

  13. Why wouldnt we deliver Soucy to ANY team?
Players when negotiating contracts always talk about the process as "its a business" but then get their feelings in a bunch when something disrupts their lives.
Bro, that's what you get paid millions for !
There are literally THOUSANDS of hockey players just as good as "Soupy" that would give up their left nut just to play…and these primary Donna's (like Boyle) get all frustrated when Goodrow gets sent packing to SJ with his $2m contract.
    Gimme a fkin break.
You guys are not stars bro, you are the mechanic and thr stars drive the bus….get real Boyle, you wuss

  14. We dont wanna see "young blood get moving", we wanna see a team that doesnt tank, quit and play with some courage and BALLS

  15. Drury is probably the worst GM in the NHL. Look at the toxic environment he created. Just a clown along with Dolan.

  16. Panarin is a finesse player and very talented but not a playoff type player.
Very streaky as well. I wish him well

  17. Sullivan needs 3-4 HOF players on his roster to succeed, Shesty maybe gets there? Not under Sully's leadership. Hates young guys, career minor leaguer himself! Pittsburgh doing better with Muse! Should have just kept him! JT Miller is a bust! Never will work in NY! Tampa was perfect for him, but not happening. To me, Trocheck a better captain, but he's gone! Get rid of DOLAN! No more Sathers! Let Knoblauch walk to Edmonton, wow! Time to boil Drury in his Irish pizza oil!

  18. I don't understand what exactly Drury plans to do if it's not going to be a full rebuild. I'm hearing that the plan is to return to contending in 2-3 seasons? How? And if the plan is to back in the mix that quickly, does losing Panarin really make sense? He could have at least another 2-3 good seasons left.

  19. The only tool around is Drury. Hes been an abomination as GM. This has been brewing for years. You saw it when Panarin and Kreider were doing a presser years ago during the playoffs. Drury put out a public statement saying players will address media in english only. Panarin continued to speak in Russian as a middle finger to Drury. We all know the problem here. Only thing i can think of is Drurys been doing a great job somewhere else…..on his knees under Dolans desk.😂 😮😅

  20. Hearing how highly Boyle talks about Panarin made me think about something interesting. The biggest difference between Brian Boyle and Artemi Panarin besides the size and the playing style, Boyle was a former first round pick in a loaded 2003 draft, Panarin was somehow undrafted. And that’s no slight to Boyle, most ranger fans like myself loved Brian Boyle during his time here. But it just shows how much of a crapshoot the draft can be in every sport sometimes.

  21. They need to retool with young proven players and prospects that have produced…I do NOT trust this organization with draft picks and Drury shouldn't be the one picking them…If not for a disconnected, disinterested owner we would have a new GM…It is long overdue!!

  22. "Filling up the net" doesnt he have like 25 goals? Which is great. But its not 50 or even filling up the net…

  23. While no Rangers fan questions his importance, the lasting impression of the Jeff Gorton era was Tom Wilson dragging Artemi Panarin by the hair like a cave man dragging away his woman.
This was followed by several Rangers proving comically they couldn’t fight if their life depended on it.
What was indicative of this, there was NO WAY this talented roster constructed by Jeff Gorton could win the necessary street fights and be physical enough to get to the Stanley Cup Finals.
We need to re-visit Gorton’s trading away JT Miller + Captain Ryan McDonagh which was one of the most lopsided trades in Rangers history. A trade that Blueshirtbanter, a podcast of alleged hockey knowledge, supported. Does anyone know what a hockey player looks like?

  24. Audio much better this episode. Team is unwatchable and even worse without Panarin. Going to be bad a long time with Drury in charge.

  25. I cannot watch or listen to you Mollie as all you do is smile laugh smile laugh. How about taking a page from your mentor and report and talk with a straight face as any experience reporter would do. But then again you are a born Icelander fan who thinks the loudest building ever for a hockey game was the old barn at the Coliseum LOL .Game 7 1994 you couldn't even hear the anthems and I was there in person. Know your facts before you speak #1 rule of journalism I rather follow the annoying Vince who never shuts up asking questions then your silliness.

  26. “The Rangers having periods like that since last season. You know it becomes kind of like a periodic thing where they just disappear for an entire period at a time……” 😁

  27. Chris Drury is a complete disaster, traded away 28 picks with virtually nothing to show for surrendering those picks. He is woefully beyond his depth and breadth as GM, the position has totally outmatched him. Dolan is a fool for bringing him up from Hartford. The team needed tinkering when he came up and he completely destroyed a team that was very close. Dolan needs to fire him over the Olympics break before he does any more damage. Drury is building a Stanley Cup team, in Anaheim not NY.

  28. First came Jeff Gordon and company to rebuild this team telling all it would take close to five years then they got fired for taking too long on the rebuild. The team actually showed improvement but Management decided to take over by hiring Drury who in my observation made terrible trades and selection. Now management is trying to fix what they messed up. What a bunch of clowns.

  29. Panarin paid money to an Msg employee for sexual harassment (not first time) and Mollie ignored it completely and gave a sexual predator a good guy away, same as Larry the clown did what he was told and ignored it to keep his job. NDA's for everyone, not truth. Pure Rupert Murdoch.
