The Dallas Stars raced out to a 4-1 lead after two periods, gave up three third period goals and then beat the Vegas Golden Knights 5-4 in a shootout on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena. Matt Duchene opened the scoring, extending his current goal-scoring streak to three games. Keegan Kolesar tied it up early in the second period and then Dallas scored the next three to open up a 4-1 lead. Mavrik Bourque tallied the first multi-goal game of his NHL career as he buried two pucks in a 5:30 span. Then Wyatt Johnston scored off his own rebound, finding the net in his 300th career NHL game. The Golden Knights clawed back in the third period, with a Reilly Smith shorthanded goal, an Ivan Barbashev even strength tally and a Mitch Marner 6-on-5 extra attacker goal. After a goalless overtime, Jason Robertson and Mikko Rantanen both scored in the shootout and Jake Oettinger stopped both attempts he faced to give Dallas the win. I'm with Ludz here. We should be concerned about the blown leads. It's good that we ended up winning these type of games but this cannot happen in the playoffs.

No team is playing perfect hockey yet.
Colorado has been riding high but teams are finding their flaws and just tonight the Avalanche were blown the fuck out 7-3 by the Canadiens.

The concern over blown leads is legit, but there are things to be encouraged about as well. Duchene got his third goal in two games. Bourqe played arguably his best game ever. Robo still makes SO shots look boringly easy.
Ludz’s invalidation, and attempted shutdown of Owen with the “until you play the game more then you can talk to me about this stuff..… ” was cringe.. They are co-hosts, right? Not cool. It wasn’t fun to watch.
