I would have said no to Trochek. He has proven he doesn't want to be here and his lack of effort would be clear.

two points. 1 – Tulsky BETTER NOT trade Nikishin. I have no idea why some people act like you have to give a player like that up to make a deal. I see deals all over the league and none of them include a young player of his caliber. Almost all the guys on the trade market, even the top guys, can be had for a 1st round pick, a prospect (Nadeau) and a roster player (pick one, Ghost, Walker, Carrier, Martinook whoever). There is no reason to trade Nikishin if we do we are getting ripped off.
2 – Why has no one mentioned Stamkos. If people don't want him thats fine, but I don't understand why his name NEVER comes up on this station or other Canes media outlets as a potential trade target. He is a 6'1" veteran right handed center, fits under our cap, would only have two years left on his contract (not a huge longterm risk for Canes unlike some other ideas like Petterson). And ohh yea, he has 25 goals in 52 games on a bad team so he is still producing at a high level. Outside of getting Robert Thomas he seems like the next best center on the market and would easily be gettable for the Canes.
