If the red wings trade any defense without getting better defense in return, I will lose my mind. Its not happening. Forwards and draft picks, sure.
ASP or edvinsson or even johanson are off the table for any forwards. Only for better D.

Yzerman wants extensions signed, that is why they didn't get Andersson, he wouldn't sign one(said he wouldn't sign one for any team), EP40 or anyone they try and get would need to sign extensions.
Everyone is forgetting something, he has a no movement clause. It's up to Elias and I don't believe he wants to move and the Canucks are not shopping him. Besides, the Canucks are too thin down the center. For Detroit, it's just a pipe dream.
I don't see Detroit giving up ASP. I know EP40 is valuable, but there are certain trades that would close one hole while opening another. And that's what this would be if ASP is part of the deal.
The Wings will give up a 4th liner…and a draft pick for Pettersson

I still think the most likely trade is going to be for Byram. He would be a nice complement to ASP and would probably only cost a player, prospect and a couple picks.

I think the only way Steve Y gives up anything Vancouver would have to retain salary because he's not going to pay him 11.6 million he don't like paying anyone more than the captain.
I still think the kings will push for him as kopitar is retiring this year.

I don't think he is worth 11.6 to the redwings I don't see that big of a change he would make we need serious help on our defense
