Daniil Tarasov Comes Up Big Again: Florida Panthers Beat Winnipeg Jets in SO

Florida Panthers goalie Daniil Tarasov meets the media after his team beat the host Winnipeg Jets 2-1 in a shootout on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026.

Maurice coached the Jets for parts of nine seasons before resigning in 2022; he was 0-3 in Winnipeg as coach of the Panthers.

Florida got 17 saves from Tarasov before he stopped both offerings in the shootout; Anton Lundell and Sam Reinhart each scored.

Sam Bennett scored in the second period to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

Florida continues its three-game road trip on Saturday in Minnesota.
