I get why there has been rumors around Pettersson, lafreniere, talent that could use a change of scenery.

Pretty sure there is atleast a dozen potential fits Yzerman is making calls on, its all just a matter of cost and if the other team plays ball.

Right now it looks like the Red Wings have a chance of becoming a playoff team so yzerman isn't really pressured to do anything crazy. I still think Bowen Byram would be the perfect fit alongside ASP. I would love to see a trade deal with an extension next year.

I think that statement was more about last year. He had players with term that could have helped and he did nothing.

You don't make moves just to make a move. Wings have never done that. And as long as those moves don't include kaspar the 👻
