While the trade deadline is still pretty far away, some Metropolitan Division teams have been making moves – so should the Penguins follow suit? Patrick and Hunter begin the show looking at the moves the New York Islanders have made recently, and if that should force Kyle Dubas and the Penguins’ hands. They also look at some possibilities the team could make ahead of or at the NHL trade deadline. (0:00) Then, with the big club off for a few days, they take a look at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, who, despite losing some good talent to trades and injury, are still chugging right along. (13:24) Finally, it’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time to hand out the MVP of the week in another Warrior Helmet Wednesday! (24:12)

Idk. I think Dubas already made moves and made them sooner than our competition. Chinakhov slotting into the top 6 was huge. Solovyov is a good depth. They also have Hallander coming back in a month or so which is definitely a huge addition back into the roster. I'm fine if he stands pat.
if i was granted god powers, i'd
– not be afraid to give a 3rd-4th rounder for a steadying defensive presence even if he's just a rental
– be on the phone with every cap strapped team about taking on expensive bad players and picks
gotta think some team out there needs cap space. the penguins have cap space. thats an asset!
Oh yeah. I'm not sure if y'all mentioned it yet, but the Penguins are bringing Melvin Fernstrom back over to play for Wilkes-Barre. Fernstrom is having a down year in the SHL and they're not able to give him the ice time he needs to develop. WBS needs the help for sure.
Another great show guys.
Ok question. Why is Dubas better with penguins than he was with Leafs? Is it him or the organization??
In terms of young defenseman, I would love if Dubas went after either Mintyukov or Morrow (NYR) for the left or right sides respectively. Both would be in line with the move made for Chinakhov and add NHL ready pieces that are young
As a WBS season ticket holder, I can tell you Murashov is the real deal but maybe one more year to cook. Get Dumba off this team.
With graves playing as well as he has why is no one talking about him
I agree with everyone defense is what they need to add. But I think they need to take a swing or do nothing kulak wotherspoon and Shea are already what you get in a small trade. The issue is idk if that big splash trade exists not a lot of teams looking to move their young defenseman.
You guys aren't acknowledging the fact that Panera has a full no no trade clause in his contract so he could just refuse a trade and become a free agent. So if he wants to go someplace and he were to pick some place like the penguins I have no choice
I am satisfied with the direction of the Pittsburgh Penguins
Big no to panarin. Now if rangers want to move lafreniere, thats a different story. I know he hasnt lived up to expectations, but he's young and skilled. What dubas is looking for and a change of scenery could do wonders for him. Look at chinakhov excelling right now. A pipe dream most likely but its a move to think about if rangers want to trade him
You SCORE, Geno! 🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🔥
If the are going to go after a right handed D, I think they should try to bring back Gudbranson
Watch out for a three team trade, moving Silovs to someone who feels they are a goaltender away from a playoff run. Pens send picks and prospects to Dallas for Robertson, and send Silovs to 3rd, with other assets. Third team sends solid roster player to Dallas to finish the Robertson trade. That third team could be someone like Montreal, or Ottawa.
Hi guys, great show. Ok, first, YES…..Dubas just sign Malkin already!!! Who would be a better 2nd line center that is available and we could get for 5$ million?!? Come on, enough already Kyle….and btw, I say this with the utmost respect.
Secondly, guys I disagree with the trade deadline and what Dubas should do. In my humble opinion, I believe he should be looking at picking up either a strong, young and talented left defenseman or an elite winger. Obviously, that's if they are available. My reasoning is this 1 we need that upgrade on the left side of our defense. And if one that fits our need, goes along with his plan, and he said himself that "we are in the execution part of our plan" that means use what we have to trade especially if its a team wanting draft picks. And as for an elite winger for Sid, which he's never had for any extended period, again goes along with his plan and there so happens to what I think is available in Alex Lafreniere. Listen, he hasn't been developed properly, plays on a dysfunctional team, but showed a couple years ago what he's capable of when he had 58 or 59 points and 29 of them were goals. Because his contract I don't think many teams will go near him. We could get him for less than what people may think. He's no where near his ceiling, and if he was even now developed as he plays properly, and no one better than Muse who knows him, and he wasn't used properly. Put him with our team and wat h him explode. Dubas is a master at getting talent that needs a second chance and this would be his most talented. As for defense there are teams that happen to have too many left defenseman and their players in the minors who should be in the NHL. Anaheim, Detroit, and a couple more I can't think of right now but he's Dubas and would know. Flip the players that would be needed, hope its like Mantha, and Kulak players like that.
