I'm not one to complain about the refs, but those 2 embellishments were completely ridiculous.
I wish they would just let Tkachuk heal up instead of playing games with us fans. Seems to me he is just using the Panthers as conditioning for the Olympics. We can't throw away games like this when the Mammoth are on night 2 of a back to back.

Bobs a liability, seems like he’s aged 5 years since the Stanley Cup. I understand you couldn’t get rid of him after that last 2 runs but I think they thought he would pick up where he left off but it’s just not the case. I get the defense is struggling but Bob hasn’t been able to counter that with good play.
Can't keep making excuses for Bob. He'll always be a Panthers legend, but he's been one of the worst goalies in the league this year by pretty much any metric you look at. Tarasov needs to be the starter.

Besides that Bob has to have the worst luck of all time for this season. Like don’t know what to say besides that. The one positive from this game is that more and more of the players do acknowledge about having to have a sense of urgency going forward.
I just hope that they can eventually win more than 3 games in a row before time runs out.
Why we didn't start Tarasov tonight I have no idea. Bob has clearly been worse and it isn't close. And no, I do not believe that is entirely his fault, but for whatever reason, we have played better in front of Tarasov than Bob. Tarasov also seems to have better luck for one reason of another (Scheifele of the Jets whiffing on a breakaway when we played Winnipeg as an example). So why we are not riding the hot goalie is beyond me.
Other than that, our 4th line was our best line by a mile tonight. Congrats to Vilmanis on scoring his first NHL goal. Love to see it. Our bottom pair of Bjornfot Petry was a plus two so they didn't seem to be a problem from what I watched. If Ekblad is going to be out, we'll be counting on the following: Ballinskis needs to be Cale Makar, Bjornfot needs to be Forsling 2.0, and Sebrango has to not put himself out of position. That's asking a lot I know. Missing Jones or Ekblad sucks. Missing Jones AND Ekblad is a whole different ball game (or in this case puck game I guess?). I'm hoping the Lundell being taken out was just precautionary as being out both our current top line center and a top pairing defenseman could derail our playoff push very quickly more than Montreal, Boston AND Buffalo winning tonight already has.
Finally, I know we could say the officiating was questionable to put it lightly, but we did have our opportunities to score on and off the powerplay. Our 4th line provided us with two goals and nobody else could step up until it was too late. Heck, Bjornfot provided us with two goals in the last game. Mackie on the 4th line also scored last game. Our depth guys haven't been the issue the last couple games. It's the big-time players that needed to make big time plays tonight.
EDIT: I just finished watching the video. Ekblad broke a shin pad and Lundell being taken out was likely precautionary. Well, that's some good news I suppose. We're six points out with two games in hand on Boston, One game in hand on Montreal, and No games in hand on Buffalo. This stinks, we REALLY need to get on a run. pretty much every other team has at some point this year.

We cats fans should be more accustomed to a loss 1st game back from the road. A bit of a wasted opportunity considering they were on a 2nd game of a back to back. Meh.
We need barkov back
We outplayed Utah and had the opportunities, but couldn't capitalize. Rodriguez missed an open net in the first period. The penalties also did us in with the bad calls. Defensemen have been able to score from the point and put the puck pass Bob. We aren't consistent. The bright spot is Vlimanis and Schwindt. They are showing promise.
Also faceoffs 58% to 42% for Utah. Not going to control a game when needed with those numbers.
Dangle has lost it. He's ranting about how the Panthers conspired to injure Stolarz because he is mean….
I spent an hour or so looking at the standings earlier and I noticed that it seems like one of Florida's big issues is scoring. 18 teams have scored more goals. A few of those teams are well below Florida but most are ahead.
Edmonton is in a playoff spot in part because they have more goals than everyone except Colorado, which relieves pressure on their goalies a little bit. Unless their name is Skinner anyway.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say goaltending isn't a big problem if you get more goals. I'm sure Bob can dial it up in the playoffs once again.
It was too much Pussy Hockey by Panthers. It was easy game and we still lost it. Panthers need Barkov back to get that basic hockey attitude back in Florida. That was bad! Really Bad!
It isn't unusual for Bob to be a bit ordinary during a stretch of the season. The great run of the last few years wouldn't have started without Alex Lyon being incredible after all.
The Panthers tend to spend large chunks of time in the opponents end only to suddenly give up a grade A scoring chance the other way. That has to be harder on a goalie than regularly having shots put on you?I really only watch Panthers games so this might be a common thing

The refs didn't lose us the game but it didn't help with the embellishment calls that probably wouldn't have done anything but it would've been huge with 2 minutes left.
