The 2 defenseman that I would love to see Yzerman trading for one of them are Mattias Samuelsson of Buffalo or Mason Lohrei of Boston. Both teams are still competing for a playoff berth, which makes it harder to trade for. Mattias Samuelsson is my ideal choice.

I would like to see Watson or a "Watson like" player inserted into the lineup heading into the back end off the regular season , maybe after the Olympic break. Chariot is no enforcer and we obviously can't afford to have Seider in the Box soo. Something needs to be done . (example) that loser whatever his name was I forget who ran Kane last game should have had to be punished for that. We will get steam rolled in the playoffs and everyone will be injured if they don't get some guys that make other teams think twice about doing shit like taking a run at Patrick Kane and everyone else. (imo)

Wings should just stand pat and not make any trades. They got plenty of help with their AHL team they can call players up from.

These kinds of moves kill rebuilds becasue you send multiple talents away for one expensive talent. Erases all the gains from the build. We are nowhere near being buyers.

I want to see them bring up Annti Toumisto from grand rapids. The kid is a +19 and has been playing on a winning team with some really tough opponents lately.
We would have to give up a couple roster players to make room. A couple prospects which we are overflowing with and a double draft picks. We have like 9 picks in the first 3 rounds next couple years.
Or Jason Robertson and Dougie Hamilton?
I would go all out for Robert Thomas. There are better options than Faulk for a lot cheaper so unless he's a throw in, no thanks. Larkin and Thomas down the middle would be sick. I would give up Danielson and a 1st considering Thomas is only 26 and Danielson's highest ceiling is that of Thomas so we could use that right now and by throwing in a 1st that should give us a chance at getting Faulk in the package. Forget the 'Blues want an arm and a leg' rumors. Faulk is not valued at a 1st round pick in the NHL. I think Danielson, a 1st and a mid prospect could be enough to get both Thomas and Faulk🤷♂

i want thomas on this team so bad. that contract leaves room for a top 4 D, simon’s contract, AND a winger if we so choose. trade compher and/or ras, let appleton or kasper center a line, get watson up make that 4th line a TRUE identity line, and go get yourself a deep playoff run.

Sooo… I've been reading a lot lately that Minnesota is entertaining the idea of trading Jesper Wallstedt as their high value asset to get a legit top six C (their current 1A/B C is 31yo Ryan Hartman, which to me is pretty equal to our own Andrew Copp…), now this got me thinking on something that i thought about ever since Trey Augustine starting to make noise.
With John Gibson also rediscover himself (at 32, he still should have several solid years left him, goalies actually tend to be at their best around 30yo), do we really "NEED" Sebastian Cossa? Maybe HE could be our high value asset for another team, to give up for us that wouldnt really effect the present or the near future? I mean, before this season Cossa have not light the world on fire living up to Detroit giving up both a 1st and a 2nd to draft him… This year, his stats looks great… BUT… You have to take into the consideration that the whole Grand Rapids team is having an HISTORIC season and the actual few games the have not totally dominated the opponents and could have used a "goalie steal" to get the W, Cossa have been in the crease (let in 5 goals in 17 shots a while agoo on a rare day the team in front of him didnt show up).
His 1.77GAA and .933% looks extremely good, but again you have to look at the team as a whole and Cossa stats is actually just barely better then the washed up try-out goalie Dustin Tokarski (.929%) and Postava (who recently had back to back shutouts) have been GR #1 goalie lately with putting up .941 on the season. Heck, the ECHL goalie Carter Gylander has 1.57 GAA .943… Sooo… What is more likely here? That Cossa is "the next Vasilevskiy"? Or is it more likely that Grand Rapids is an absolute powerhouse this year which pads the stats for ANY goalie they have in their net?
My point is, there is only one net and Detroit has a absolute luxery of goalie depth right now (it's odd to say, but it's true) compared to any other team in the NHL. Augustine is the obvious one (who Detroit STILL HAVE TO SIGN, if they don't this summer and he returns for a final year in NCAA, he could walk as a free agent! Maybe, just maybe he is watching the crazy goalie depth we have atm and saying, "maybe i should wait a year to see…), but they have other really solid goalie prospecs aswell in guys like Rudy Guimond and Michal Pradal. And like i said, the other euro schooled Michal in Postava, is having a amazing season aswell in GR and still at just 23yo, he def looks like a NHL caliber goalie aswell… So yeah… 1 net… Gibson looking like he could hold up as our starter for next 2-3 years… Augustine would want to have legit chance to be a AHL starter next year to sign, you already have Postava actually outplaying Cossa in GR right now… Maybe shopping Cossa, while his value still is high, wouldnt be such a bad idea? Just a few thoughts…
Apples to oranges… different sports. For sure, but same ownership. Chris Illitch will not get top talent, Cat being the only top talent in 7 years. Odds are not good for top talent to come here.
Hope I'll wrong but I feel like Ed is going to be a guy who will consistently miss 15 games a year. Great player but I think he is one of those guys.

I suspect that any trade or acquisition Stevie makes, there will be plenty of naysayers and nitpicking… just like they did with JVR.
Sure, there's a few players on our roster I wouldn't mind giving up a 'first rounder in a trade, and remembering the Wings' knack for finding future stars late in the draft, (Zett, Dat, Fin, etc) I say do it.
But please get someone who shows grit and tenacity and is hungry.
And no game is an 'expected win', trading win for win with the Lighting means every game is a MUST WIN.

The problem with the NHL trade deadline is thet theres maybe 12 teams that should go into a rebuild, but only 3 or 4 that will actually admit it to themselves and have the balls to do it. It remains a seller's market due to scarcity of truly available talent.

The cost sounds too high from the Blues but I’d like to see them go after Ferraro on the sharks (if they’re still looking to move him) he’s 27, could play in the top 4 with Ed out, and plays both sides of the ice. Loads of hits and blocks. Asking price was a second rounder and Ferraro is a UFA at the end of this season but might be worth extending.
Another player to go after is TVR on the caps. Maybe a trade like a third rounder and Hamonic to give Washington $2 mill in cap space and upgrade the Wings right side depth.
Thomas would arguably be our 1-C if Larks wasn't wearing the C.
Give me a Seider ASP top pairing.

what about a guy like Logan Stanley? big body adds some physicality ik hes not normally this productive on offense so they might ask for more than hes worth but i dont think theyll be able to keep him with how theyre playing so maybe theyll try to get anything out of it?
Kasper is a hard no to me he is not scoring but he plays a hard complete game trading Danielson is okay with me. He might be good but I don't know if he has a complete game but we need defense more than anything else. We need to stop the puck our Gold differential is in bad shape also wouldn't be against getting a really good offensive player too I think it is time we spend our draft capital
