1) management knew this was a bad deal at the time but to avoid trading their franchise player for a rental they had to do something as Huby probably did not want to resign here so they had to offer him a sweetheart deal to say the least and so here we are….
2) I'm sure they could approach him and he would wave the NMC but the issue is they would have to at least half of this deal to appeal to I keep another team enough to take him
That's what happens when you play for a paycheck. He gave away his mindset when he said, "I earned it". A I'm good now and don't have to put in an effort anymore. He did it to himself when he stopped putting in the effort.

He’s also cashing in regardless. Pretty sure you guys care more than he does.
It is almost depressing when you consider there's a half decade left on his contract.10.5,ouch!
