  1. DK’s daily shot is my new 3am bed time lullaby. Pens taking it to the conference finals! ! 💤

  2. This is going right. The Oilers game was one of my favorite examples of the urgency and hard work this season. Malkin is earning next year's roster spot. Crosby gets 100 points regular season. Playoffs more points. 3rd and 4th line are amazing with no lack of smart energy. 👍

  3. We went from "Window Closed" to "Window Ajar" in 50 NHL games. I will say, I didn't start to "believe" until this recent winning streak, coupled with the Chinakov signing and his chemistry with Make me a Milkshake Malkin. For the first time all season, I can honestly say, "we have staying power and we can definitely make the playoffs and probably even have home-ice advantage in Round 1. In my opinion, Dubas designed this roster to be able to flip players for picks at the deadline, but he did so absurdly well that we're clearly not even sellers. If Chinakov can be a mainstay in the Top 6 that solves another piece you'd have to find in a future draft. My internal narrative has gone from: "We still have to be sellers to capitalize on our expiring UFA's", to "You have to at least stand pat, and maybe even add at the deadline to give Crosby & Malkin a shot at a 4th Stanley Cup(even if the odds are slim). So DK, with historical perspective, and considering a 4th Cup for Crosby would probably cement him into the Top 3 with Gretz & Lemieux(assuming he passes Gordie Howe, who currently stands at 1850 points), would it be negligent for the Penguins not to add(even around the edges) at the deadline? If yes, assuming we can't get a "hockey trade" done, if you were to spend limited resources, what is the 1 specific position you would target that would make us harder to play against in the playoffs? "Stan, Guy, & DK, Love the Show!"

  4. Great mid season recap! You really etched out the scope of what the team's become without mentioning how they compare outwards.

They're a playoff team, they're deep, and they're balanced. Best overall team construction in years and Dubas/Muse deserve so much more credit than has been given.

  5. This team, in general, makes me happy for the first time in a long time. Dubas taking a guy like Chinakov and now he's a critical component. Drafting Ben Kindel. Keeping him in the NHL! Firing Sully. Hiring Muse and company. Mantha/Brazeau. The PP is not a joke for the first time in years. 87 and 71 ageless. Blake freaking Lizotte. Jarry/Skinner move. It's all gone RIGHT. Fun team, fun year. What a time.

  6. I was one of the 'clowns' that thought this team will finish bottom 10 again. And up until the last few weeks that is where they have hovered around. If you looked at this roster in the off season maybe with the exception of you DK, the roster was not a team performing at this level, or capable of making the playoffs or even being relevant. You have had Crosby be Crosby, Karlsson elevate his game, Malkin elevate his game, Rust and Rakell being consistent….but then you have had Brazeau on pace for career year, Wotherspoon on pace for career year, Dewar on place for career year, Shea on pace for career year, Kindell being better than anyone expected, Graves elevating his play, Silovs on pace for career year, Chinny on pace for a career year….that matters….sometimes everyone elevates and the team plays better. Credit is due to the core for that, credit is due to Muse and the new coaching staff for that….as much as I'm not a Dubas fan, credit goes to Dubas as well, his MO is take a waver at a lot, some will stick and have career years, that is what has happened, and it has just happened all at once…..and I have no problem eating crow if this team finishes as they are now…that would be a dream, I think this teams best chances of winning again is with Sid, so get in the playoffs don't waste any years that you don't have to……HOWEVER, context is important….when half your team has career years, some of that, some of that is just good fortune…….take the good fortune and enjoy it!

  7. While I love seeing the Pens win, Love getting the big veterans back to the playoffs, but I dont feel like anyone in the East (including Tampa) beating the powerhouse teams of the West this year. Obviously the Avs are everyone's favorite even with some of their flukey losses lately, but Dallas, Minnesota, and even Edmonton are gonna be hard to beat in a 7 game series.

  8. Some Colorado writer was writing about how it's time for the Pens to trade Sid to Colorado and I'm going have you seen the standings? Why is this even a talking point

  9. The biggest thing that I agree with you on is that the national coverage people have no clue about the pulse of a local team the way the local news media does.

  10. I love Sid but Geno needs alot of credit too he is still taking over every shift still 😂 after all these year's😂. Didn't realize he was +16 points rating. Also EK65 is playing lights out

  11. We've taken some really big steps to get to where we're at. Still, I'm reminding myself how easily it would be for those steps to crumble underneath our skates.
One major injury during the Olympics is all it would take to knock us off the road to Sir Stanley Cup.
    Keep hope alive! 🐧🏒🙏

  12. As we've seen, Dubas loves to go after players that are younger, to go along with his plan, that are either not being used properly with their current team or one that is on a team whose development program may not be the best. With that being said DK, I have one for you…..do to the Rangers playing the Canucks and willing to trade about everyone, Alex Lafreniere is who I am speaking of. Does Dubas inquire about him? We all know the Rangers don't exactly have the best development program, I don't think he's been groomed right, or even used properly and yet he did have 1 real good season scoring 29 goals. He's very gifted, can set up or score, and he hasn't been close to his ceiling. With our development, Muse as coach, and using him correctly, we could easily have a 75+ points a season player for years to come. This type is exactly what Dubas has been going after. He's 24 I believe so a run in the playoffs and part of the future in one. Should Dubas go after him?
Great show as always DK! Blessings, Victor 🙏
