Goalies need to learn to hold their sticks high up on the handle on shoot-outs. Ready to poke-check from a further distance before the skater is done with his moves. I've always thought that in today's game, goalies need to re-think the "lie" (the angle of the stick blade vs. its shaft) that most goalies have been accustomed to since hockey became a professional sport. With a goalie's "spread-wide" stance while under attack, their stick-blade is never flush with the surface of the ice. Usually, only the heel of the blade ever touches the ice. I think it is ridiculous that they haven't remedied this obvious handicap. I admit, I don't know the limits and regulations on the lie allowances on a goalies stick. I'll have to Google it.
Tbh it’s only 3 moves but they are all wrinkles off of each other. So if the goalie and team are watching film they know one is coming. Just not which one. Which really works in his favor.
