Leafs aren’t climbing anywhere unless they learn to compete for 60 f-in minutes. Play hard and smart from the opening face off and protect your goalies with a physical presence in front of the net. Look closely at the video tapes of how the leading teams do it.

Confidence cannot come from playing half-injured. There is none coming from that. So keep players healthy but back the ** off when they get injured.

There no disputing Mathews is a very talented player but the guy has been floating big time for the last two seasons.
His line is usually hemmed in his own zone and that’s a result of not working hard enough.
It seems like he wants out and if that is the case that has to be pretty toxic in the dressing room. If by the time they near the deadline that it looks like the playoff hopes are all but over, I’d ask him to wave his no movement clause because they will get the most for him at that point.
I would imagine he wants out anyway.

Fire Craig Boobies his ego and lack of urgency gotta go. This is what nervous attachment looks like. Zero conviction and minimizing mistakes to cling to his expectations which constantly fall short. He was no better or worse than Sheldon Keefe. Band-aid fix type of franchise because ego lights the lamp in Toronto.

I saw some great hockey for about 8 games but the last 3 or so they look completely different…unfortunately I don’t see them making the playoffs, next year berube will be gone and so will Brad. But I could be wrong and they go on a killer stretch and win the cup this year

Tavares should NEVER have been re-signed! He creates NOTHING, he's a burden on the PP, he's horrible defensively, he can't skate, can't pass, makes horrible decisions, coughs up the puck constantly, easily gets knocked off the puck, etc., etc. Tavares is demoralizing to ANY line he plays on. His linemates must HATE playing with him. And with those clearly visible negative traits, incredibly, I see him on the ice in the last minute of a game with the game on the line! As a coach, berube is a failure! And rielly??? At $7.5M/year, dollar for dollar the worst defenseman in the NHL!
