I used to play at the old Broadmoor Wolrd Arena – all the way through my high school years. It was a pretty false place with World Figure Skating championships held there several times. They had to build these giant mental arches over it to hold up the arena, not kiding. When you went into the corner by the Zamboni doors there was a hole in the ice that went under the doors. It was a sort of regular occurrence that the puck would get lost there. It was kinda crazy. Colorado College used it for their home games as well.
They finally tore it down and built a new World Arena, but it no long on the grounds of the Broadmoor. Colorado College finally has their own rink on campus as well.

To be honest, I dunno if it’s someone from Ottawa who hates the Sens, or what, but the rumours always start when Ottawa is in a rough situation. It feels malicious at this point, like the “soft tampering” from last season.
So the timing of these rumours leads me to believe it’s another case of “Let’s kick this franchise while they’re down ‘cause the fanbase is fragile as it is.” – but, if it IS true… Ullmark clearly chose to scorch the earth and started the fires on his teammates.
Well that’s good that the ice will be done by the Olympics….. hahahahah
Each time i heard the name Kotkaniemi i get nauseous. Still pissed off and still can't believe Habs choose him over Brady Tkachuk or Quinn Hughes.
It's nice having a distraction from the news. It's not a nice world right now. I appreciate a lighter fare, just to escape the harsh reality of all the evils around. The Canuck's problems seems irrelevant now, which is a good thing as they keep losing. Ugh. Go Wild!

So Dave Pagnotta just confirms Ullmark's relationship with the team has been 'strained' for weeks. Linus has been around the arena during games & practice facility too. Ullmark's name has been floating around trade rumors. Boy, Staios' denial seems like complete spin at this point.
the guys who grew up playing pond hockey will be pleased. if they can get some weeds poking through the ice and replace the goals with piles of snow itll be perfect.

A "hole in the ice." 😅 Please elaborate! I've been playing ice hockey since l was age 04 in 1971 and I've never heard of or seen a hole in the ice at an indoor hockey arena. This is C-R-A-Z-Y! I can only imagine what the NHL'ers are thinking, the jokes they are cracking. These guys are going over there to play boot hockey on scruffy ice with a tennis ball…

All the Sens did was make this More Public then it needed to be. And Honestly by making the statement and how they worded it…Kinda makes it sound like its all true.
when i saw the ottawa statement, i was afraid of, like, more serious allegations. so all in all i can’t deny that the actual rumors are pretty funny
I could site at least ten examples of Kotkaniemi acting like an over-entitled adolescent during his tenure in Montreal. His father has had a very detrimental effect on the kids career. KK turned out to be little more than a fourth liner & a lousy skater with low hockey IQ who refuses to heed advice & direction from his coaches. This is what happens when a player is drafted third overall when he should have been a late second rounder in the 2018 draft. Then Daddy insists he's a top six forward at every turn, refuses any & all advice from the NHL coaching staff in Montreal & Carolina to help the kid, & hires private trainers & skating coaches. KK's a defensive liability, mediocre in the face-off circle, & refuses to provide a consistent level of effort & physicality on the fourth line. After the Canes traded away Necas & Drury, KK had one goal in his next forty two games and none in his last thirty three postseason appearances. Necas carried this stiff for four seasons in Raleigh. The Canes front office mismanaged this situation ninety ways to Sunday by investing $45m in a player who had six goals in 2020 & five goals in 2021 in Montreal. If a player is unmotivated & lacks talent no amount of NHL coaching or cheer leading will rectify the situation. You'll just be treated to five frustrating seasons of false hustle & increasingly brief glimpses of what the player was supposed to develop into.
Internet trolls when the Bedsy/Perry rumors hit: "The Hawks never acknowledged it, holy crap it's actually true!"
Same trolls: The Sens put out a statement denying the Ullmark rumor, holy crap it must be true!"
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
The hole in the ice story is funnier when you learn they filled it in with a watering can…
If an NHL player gets injured due to the ice at the Olympics… do they sue the Olympics?
One can only hope the Ullmark situation doesn't end up in something similar to Lehner, another great Swedish goalie that just went poof.

For those wondering about the Ullmark rumours he's being accused of cheating on his wife and that's why he's away. I believe its with team player's wives not positive.
The thing is this rumor seemed to come out of nowhere and the Ottawa Senators instantly came out to defend it and to say no it’s not true. I’ve never seen in an NHL team come out that fast to debunk something. Usually never happens. Tells you there’s some real problems in Ottawa and whether smoke there’s fire. I dealt with this in Boston last year with teammates not getting along it’s something that takes a toll on your season.
I dont care why Linus is missing! I just hope him and his lived ones a okay. It does look that good. There has to be something bothering him. But leave him the free space. He will adress it, once he dealt with it! Most of you are men, I assume and that is the way we guys handle things! So show some patience for him!

Cooper is an amazing coach doesn't get enough credit.
Kotkaniemi needs to be on a bottom team that can give him playing time and maybe there is still potential there.
Maybe san jose or calgary.
I saw the rumors first, then saw his leave of absence. Their statement certainly didn’t help.
