  1. I agree with Jesse on Anderson. I also thinks if he would take less money to resign I would keep him for another season or two

  2. Josh you sell when demand is high and offer is scarce that’s why trading Anderson could make sense that’s not what you said.

  3. Is Josh going crazy as he says ? At this point in this crazy hockey season, looking at the crazy snow accumulation, resisting to that crazy demented president…. its ok to go crazy Josh !

  4. Laine is gonna disrupt our lineup and he’s not what we need other than a PP specialist! We got him for nothing…. A dman and got a 2nd in return, so why would we worry about getting rid of his contract? He doesn’t have much value imo! Give the 2nd round pick we acquired when we traded for him, as a sweetener!! Time to move on from him! Always injured, slow, doesn’t play with pace, no defense and terrible along the boards for his size!

  5. Love the channel but have u guys ever been right?😂👍breaking balls , not news. Have about 15 hours of my life watching your breaking news and it about to go down.😉

  6. In terms of Laine, I am kind of in agreement with you. Only to give him a number of games coming up to the Olympic break to judge his play, unless management knows something I don't; or if it is just to make room or facilitate a move to bring in someone to help the team either now or down the line.

  7. Prediction: 1) Laine gets traded for a pick or prospect. 2) Laine signs a super team friendly contract (more than half of what he makes now) with Montreal when UFA at the end of the season.

Also, have in mind that Laine's salary was $9,100,000 this year (includes $2,000,000 signing bonus) So, $7,100,000 million at the start of the season, There is $2.840,000 left to pay Laine in salary today, and that goes down by $37979 per day, (NHL season is counted as 192 days.)

Laine's cap hit is $8,700,000 for Montreal. However, in a trade Laine's salary cap would be prorated based on how many days are left in the season. If traded today, Laine's cap hit would be $3,398,000.

If Laine was traded on the trade deadline, his cap hit would be $1,585,920 for the receiving team. That's not bad – anyone can make room for that. Salary left to pay Laine from trade deadline day: $1,329, 265.

Money-wise is not an issue… Would a team in a playoff or cup run want him because of injury/performance issues is the question.

  8. The problem is Laine will be that injured player again and again. Cut the losses and let him go

  9. Wouldn't get rid of Randy, that's an easy resign. And I want to see more of Laine. He could be a secret weapon for a late game PP2. St Loui needs to learn to play lines more.

  10. So you overpaid to get goals and now that means throwing away the one thing that Laine does best? Good luck when the PP doesn't click.

  11. The problem with Bolduc and Anderson is that they are severely missing dach/newhook/laine. Add in danault and I think it’s Evans and Gallagher that are the odd men out who you need to look at moving. I love those two but facts don’t care about your feelings. Evans is a decent but too small 4th C and Gallagher is a too small too old player that can’t keep up anymore. Evans is easier to move tho and Gallaghers experience can be used in the locker room or in case or injuries. Pair Evans with struble maybe a pick and you can make a nice hockey trade.

  12. They got slapped around by a bigger buffalo team last night. Where was Xhekaj, he needs more ice time. Can’t get rid of Anderson, he was the only one to stand up in the playoffs last year. Give him a try on the first line.

  13. Honestly, Anderson is a big part of the teams size n speed, but i believe Florian could step into his role.. florian is left wing tho

  14. Darren Dreger on Gagnots comments on Laine trade : The possibility of Patrik Laine being traded seems quite low. The contract is not the issue, it's the injury history. Can happen if some PP player gets injured on another team contending or part of a must buy-in for a larger deal. But right now, very low chances.

  15. Laine is a conundrum. Kent is probably trying his best, but Laine's 10 team NMC is probably making it tricky, Laine has made it clear he will not move to a rebuilding team. So, it needs to be a team that is at least in the same position as Habs i.e. playoff bound, but have big need for a winger in PP and Top 6.

  16. Haha. Jesse: “having Patrick Laine as a game changer in the playoffs”. You mean the Patrick Laine who was a healthy scratch last year in the playoffs? Who scored most of his goals on the PP in December 2024? Let the dream die, man. He’s a defensive liability, doesn’t use his size, is so slow compared to everyone else, and the one thing he could do originally he couldn’t even do consistently. I wouldn’t pay to move him but this guy is not the answer.
