If anyone knows Stamkos, it’s Steve Yzerman.

  1. Doug talking about this like he’d prefer Stamkos over Panerin and then Kenny not correcting him … tough listen. I’ll pass on Stamkos.

  2. The breadman can deliver are you guys crazy this guy will fit and contrary to what you guys are saying he says he wants an extension

  3. Patience and discipline has been a winning recipe for this rebuild. I compare it to the US policy with onshore oil drilling. Hear me out…
Hold onto your own resources while other countries (teams) exhaust theirs. That way you can just wait for a country (team) to tank and steal their oil!
All due respect to Venezuela but It's the most gangster rebuild strategy I've ever seen 😮

  4. People are really underselling just how good Copp has been as the 2C. The Kane, DeBrincat, Copp line has been by far the best line on the team. Stamkos has been playing more Wing, but we don't need a 2C. With Raymond and Cat as right-handed shots, there's really no need for Stamkos. These guys are really undervaluing Panarin. They need to look at a top-six left-handed winger and a top-four D.

  5. I would be shocked if the Wings get Stamkos with that cap hit. The immediate need is a stay-at-home top 4 defenseman that plays with an edge. A player to target might be Colton Parayko from St. Louis. This is a big body (6'6" – 230 lbs.) who plays over 22 minutes a night and plays with a nasty edge. And even though he plays with an edge, he only has 16 penalty minutes this year which shows he's aggressive but disciplined. And with a cap hit of $6.5M, he falls well within cap space.

  6. I would have taken stamkos in a heartbeat when he left Tampa. I was on the fence about trying to snag him, a friend pointed out it would be nice having a added vet with playoff and championship experience. I say load it up. Let's go get it. I worry about messing with our current chemistry.

  7. The dude who called in saying overpay for Alexi Lafrenire is an absolute idiot, he is the most overpaid overrated player and exactly what we DONT NEED MORE OF

  8. I want Elias Pettersson if we was gonna do a dumb trade for a Center, when its obvious we need more defense.. at least Pattersson is 27 years old and he fits with the time frame of this team.. Especially if we can get the Canucks to eat some salary from his 11M, instead of paying an aging Stamkos 8M..

  9. Red Wings missed on Sherwood and Hughes, those two pieces would have taken them to the next level. If not Stamkos, another piece you could go out and get from Nashville would be O’Reily, he’d be a great fit on this team. But the Red Wings need defensemen so a look at Dunn or Larsson or Oleksiak from the Kraken would also be a good idea.

  10. Stamkos will only be a drain of money on the team. If he sucks no one will want him.

  11. Steve Yzerman the player also remembers trading Adam Oates for Bernie Federko, who played the last season he missed the playoffs, and promptly retired. That's why I don't see the Wings trading any youth or prospects for aging talent. So unless these teams are giving away old talent for subpar veterans with shorter contracts to clear cap space, I don't see any of these trades happening anytime soon.
