Putting aside this penalty which is a bit of an extreme case, it definitively felt like it was not the ref's best night tonight lol
Or maybe it was in part because of this mistake that leads to second-guessing or hesitation on the part of the referee but you have a couple of cases of early or late whistles with regards to the goal, and Id love to see a replay for huston's second penalty cause I didn't see a whole lot on the broadcast (though it very well might be warranted that one idk) On a positive note, the team that got screwed over more by the calls still won the game so hey it could be worse!
it was a PAVLOVIAN reaction…. when a dog sees you with a bell, even before ringing it they start to salivate & once you ring it — the floodgates open. same thing here… this ref stepped on the ice ready and looking to call penalties against mtl, so he has already started the juices flowing and when he sees a guy go down — boom the arm goes up right away
All sports need something like the TMO that rugby union uses. They are treated as part of the officials for the game and can tell the ref that they missed something that is blatantly obvious without the needing the on field official to watch the footage.
0:16 watch the refs point of view/angle i would called the same thing, it was an honest mistake. the other referee who saw it from an other angle should of called it off
At some point, the guys could just be honest and tell the ref they when they fell on their own. Foligno reached that point and failed to act like a man.
i dont get it they got back and look for high sticks why not for this ghost trip i will tell you why the refs d they rader lose face then to lose their authority and also bettman does want montreal to win another cup everything he does is geared towards this the change to playoff format to ensure no underdog will ever win since montreal stop Toronto and Vegas from winning and las vegas spent alot of money to win they cried at daddy buttmen and changed everything to tilt the chances of front runners to win no more cinderella teams
The league, which includes the refs, do not want Canadian teams to WIN! Toronto Blue Jays SHOULD BE the champs last season…IN SIX GAMES! Hockey…Florida were the chosen team to win under any circumstances! And the refs are in on it!

Missed the hooking on Susuki just before Caufield's goal …. so didn't really matter …. but the Refs seams a little biased against Montreal this year

This is exactly why we need to be able to challenge calls.
It is possibly the worst call ever because nobody was even close to a guy who can't skate and fell on his ass. It's ridiculous.
refs in all sports need to have media obligations, or let all players and staff openly criticize

Why isn't every penalty automatically reviewed for accuracy?
