BIG TRADE NEWS for the NEW YORK RANGERS…

The New York Rangers will likely be sellers ahead of the NHL trade deadline in early March, as it seems quite clear this team will not be competing for the playoffs once again this season. In today’s video, we discuss what was said by insider Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas on the 32 Thought podcast, talking about New York Rangers trade updates and rumors.

  1. I mean, the Rangers should be sellers as their dead last in the Eastern conference. I honestly have no clue who Drury will move. Only time will tell though.

  2. Luckily for the rangers they have a lot of good players that can bring in amazing pieces for this rebuild “retool” just hope it doesn’t turn out like the last one where they rushed it 🙁

  3. Trading Trochek will be yet another major blow to team morale. Watched a video on how the Rangers screwed over LaFreniere & it was right on point. Talked about how unlike most highly touted #1s, he got limited third line minutes & was blocked from development by Kreider & Panarin. I recall saying that Panarin should be switched to RW because he is all over the ice anyway. The vid showed how Panarins numbers were so much better when playing with Lafreniere. Did you know Laf scored at a 2 pts per game level in the WJC? Then he showed Laf goals in JR. that were truly amazing & indicative of his great skill level. Sullivan said he wanted to get more out of Laf, but he has done just the opposite by keeping on the right because he stubbornly thinks he should be on the RW because he's a left shot. Completely stupid!

  4. Trochek and Schneider should get good returns. Panarin wants an extension so he might not waive unless he he extends first then gets traded. Washington has the most flexibility, but Panarin and Ovi aren't on good terms so Artemi may not agree to that. He wants to go to Florida. I don't think he really cares about winning another Cup, I think he cares about quality of life. He took less money to come to NYR because he wanted to be in Manhattan. He'd love to be in Miami…but maybe San Jose could work? But you can see it in him, he doesn't have the need to win another Cup. You HAVE to trade Trochek. He is on a great deal clubs are going to love, no NMC right now and he is a Center. He isn't going to age well and his best value is now for teams looking to make their engine room bulletproof for a Cup run. The Wild want Trochek and they have pieces. If you wait til the off season, the teams with the biggest need for him won't be interested. You cannot retool/refit/rebuild without trading Trocheck. If you think cutting ties with someone like Laf you're giving him away as reclamation project. Soucy is a pending UFA and a 3rd pair/7th man at best. Scheider has been poor and not progressed but he is a rightshot defenseman and outside of Centers RD's command the biggest return. Trade Trochek, Scheniders, Soucy, Laf and hope Panarin waives. That will get you the return you need to do something. The core of this team is laughably slow, underskilled, aging and is soft. JT Miller isn't going to keep it together, he thought he was coming into a new and exciting room with potential and talent but this is just another year of being violently mediocre. But you have to be realistic here: Hartford is a mess too. There are no players in Hartford who show any real promise. Gabe Perrault is nice, but he isn't and never will be something like Celebrini, Berard, Caufield, Suzucki. He could turn into someone who has a career like Mika, but he isn't going to carry a franchise. Jed Ortmeyer has been head of player development for the last 5 years. In that time we have had to ship out Kakko, KAndre Miller and now Lafreniere looks to be next for a "change of scenery." Chytil is unfair, what happened to him no one deserves and you cannot predict it. But when you think about Lias Andersson, Vitaly Kravtsov, Brennan Othman and when you add Kakko, Laf and Schenider to that pool of players you have a massive collection of talent that has not even come close to being the players we all thought they would be. Are we to believe that we just picked bums? Lafreniere was rightfully drawing comparisons to Crosby. Kakko was being compared to Miko Rantanen. Both were players that weren't crazy reaches, and every team who had the #1 and #2 picks those years had to take Laf at 1 and Kakko at 2. So if all these prospects are failing to blossom, that tells you the problem isn't just on the ice. Hartford should be a place where we are developing these kids. But Dolan does not care about that. He cares about making the playoffs for ticket sales and TV money. Dolan, and I promise you this, doesn't care if NYR wins. He only cares if NYR sells. He cares if the Knicks win. He is not a hockey person, he uses NYR as a means to support his other hobbies. Chant fire Drury all you want, that won't move the needle. you want to see NYR change? Stop going to games. Cancel your season tickets. Stop buying merch and jerseys. Tune out and watch the game lowlights on youtube. That is something Dolan understands. His dad started HBO FFS, he understands ratings, TV rights and ad buys. Change won't happen in NYR until NYR starts costing Dolan more money than he makes off them.

  5. Yeah that’s it. let’s trade away the players that actually know how to score goals instead of trying to make their contracts work.
    Brilliant!!!🙄

  6. Drury is an absolute moron so no matter what he does will be a nightmare. Rangers don't win until he leaves. Period end of story !

  7. If panarin agrees to go, i can florida if they can make it work. Dont see colorado needing him, bit the wild and stars possibilities.
Most likely would wanna be with his buddy bobravsky. Time will tell.
Id hate to see trochek go, but hes a big return because of his contract.
