The San Diego Gulls earned a 3–2 overtime victory over the Tucson Roadrunners on Tuesday night at Tucson Convention Center Arena, snapping back with a resilient road win. After a scoreless first period, the Gulls opened the scoring midway through the second when Nathan Gaucher finished a feed from Judd Caulfield at 12:48. Tucson answered just over a minute later to send the game tied 1–1 into the second intermission.
The Roadrunners took their first lead early in the third period, but San Diego responded on the power play at 13:23 as Justin Bailey buried his 13th goal of the season off assists from Tristan Luneau and Sasha Pastujov. The Gulls controlled much of the final minutes of regulation, forcing overtime after outshooting Tucson 31–28 through 65 minutes.
In overtime, Nikita Nesterenko delivered the game-winner just 1:25 into the extra frame, scoring his first goal as a Gull off a setup from Nikolas Brouillard. Calle Clang turned aside 18 shots in net, while the Gulls went 1-for-3 on the power play to secure their second overtime win against Tucson this season.
