I hate to be this blunt, but I'm calling it as I see it. I personally think the letter 2.0 by Drury had to do more with him feeling the hot seat, and trying to cool any notion of him being fired. It's quite convenient that he writes a letter to fans a mere 4 or 5 days after MSG was chanting "Fire Drury" Personally, he has been the helm for 6 years, and has made a lot of questionable decisions. The problem i have at this point is the plain out fact that I don't believe in Drury, and his ability to produce a team that can win a Stanley Cup. Drury has made a lot of excuses throughout his time as GM. First, when the team was not in contention he said this was not his team. Now he built his team to his standards, and they aren't good. In the letter 2.0, he immediately goes into injuries, let's be honest with ourselves for a minute. This team with Igor and Fox in the lineup still had difficulties winning. So, no this isn't just about injures. For the past 4 or 5 years, the Rangers kryptonite has been playing against teams with speed. For the past 4 or 5 years, the Rangers have ranked one of the worst teams defending off the rush, something that Steve Valiquette brought up a lot in many postgame shows. So, let's not be delusional here. This Letter 2.0 is nothing more than a stunt for Drury to save his own A$$. If this team and organization wants to win a Stanley Cup, they need to go scorched earth, Fire Drury, Fire the scouts, Fire the development staff (Tanner Glass, Jed Ortmeyer) move on from some players. The main one is Drury though. Start with him first. Let's not forget he played an instrumental role that led to the room being fractured last year. Lets not forget, it got so bad, that the team gave up, and ultimately led to Kreider being traded,Laviolette being fired..etc. Let's not forget that last season, you had players literally saying that they felt like their careers were dying here, you had Kakko calling out wondering why he was being Punished when other players were playing worse. Let's not forget you had newly acquired Calvin De Hann make a public statement before hitting the ice for practice about how bad things are, and he was here for maybe 2 or 3 months. Chris Drury is just as responsible, if not more responsible for the last few years and yet, he comes out with this BS LETTER. I'm sorry, but its so easy to see. Dont become blind to this letter, be able to read through the lines, people.Don't be fooled. Anyways, my comment won't matter because I highly doubt people who have close ties to the organization read these comments. I'm not an NHL GM, but man i have some ideas on how to turn this organization around and make it a winner, a culture on winning. I just don't know if Mr. Dolan would be patient enough to believe in a long term vision that I see. This team does not need a retool, they need a Rebulld. This organization has many deficiencies,and honestly lack structure and that's just to tip of the iceberg. So many things to fix, but it can be done with right group of people.
Time to "retool" the Potvin sucks chant with Drury sucks.

The Rangers have spent 8+ years trying to build a team with Mika Zibanejad as the #1 center-it hasn’t worked. When you spend 4 plus years trying to find someone to play with Mika and Chris (because you traded the guy you drafted who could actually do it), perhaps at least some of the problem IS Mika and Chris… and putting your team so behind the salary cap 8 ball that most of the players you brought in to do the job were never going to be any more than rentals.
Call me crazy, but I think Trocheck should be there with the listed core. He's in the same age group as JT, Mika, Fox, Gav, and Igor. Just like Boyler says, when you make it back to the playoffs, you're going to want a Trocheck. Especially at that cap hit.
For me, I'm trading Panarin, Laffy before his trade clause kicks in, Schneider for the same reasons as K'Andre, Soucy, and Quick. Raddysh if someone wants him. Absolutely need a top 4 LHD and RHD, either from the specific trades, or by flipping those assets. We have to follow the Vegas path. We can't draft or develop for anything

Fire Drury! He is the worst and he is quite possibly the worst GM Ihave ever seen. Everything he does, decisions he makes, and most importantly, how he handles each situation is just horrible. Whether it was time to move from the players or not, how he handled Kakko, Lingren, K'Andre, Goody, Troubs, Krieds, and now Bread… insanely ridiculous. Additionally, JT should never have been named Captain. A person who can't get along with his teammates to a point where it becomes a public embarrassment is not someone who would be able to affectlivly lead a team of divserse players. He is WAY overrated. That one was a good trade but Captain? He is inaffective and NOT a leader. That is not an example of how the Rangers need to play. I pray he makes an ass out of me and he does become exactly what we need, but I highly doubt it. Love you Mollie and Brian. Still miss Brooksie (oh would I give anything to hear him sound off on the letter 2.0.. WOW!).. RIP!

Jeff Gorton and company were on the right road of rebuilding this team they even told the fans it would take up to four years to complete then the impatient owner got Jeff and his associates fired due to length of time this rebuild would take. Well this same crew went on to Montreal to rebuild, this was not an overnight task and four years later Montreal has a contender. Next season new names and faces will begin the journey of making the playoffs and hopefully this team will stop rolling loaded dice for a player.

I would love for them to manage the players with Gabe, Othman, Robertson, Morrow all getting ice time jumps. And get Rempe back up. Meaningless games against NHL is an asset for development and wasted on veterans. Let Fox and Igor take as long as they need. When can we start talking about McKenna?

Drury as GM – 42 Trades , 31 draft picks – team stinks , talent is very thin, thanks Drury.
Dreary is in way over his head and should be fired. When he first started, he traded away Pavel Buchnevich and it's been all downhill since then. However, because Dolan thinks that Dreary is the second coming of the great Glen Sather, who he thought walked on water, Dreary is not going anywhere.
Why would the Rangers do this? THIS is why the team is where it is. No respect from the front office!
Sick of the letters… get players in here who compete every single night. The first that needs to go is LaFreniere. I really enjoy the podcasts but I do disagree on Fox. He is no longer an elite defenseman. He was elite at one time and is still effective on the power play, but is a nightmare defensively. Fox is not in the same class as the top defensemen in the NHL.
Let’s let the league know that we don’t plan on resigning our superstar… way to show your hand and lower the value of your asset absolute idiots. How are these people running sports franchises?
If you want to develop Perreault leave him on the top lines until he gets himself out of there. It's already working from what I see on the ice.

By the way, don't wait 2 years to get him on the first power play unit. The second power play unit is a waste of his talent.
And stop with this "overwhelming" stuff. You don't see what a good prospect can do at this level by protecting him.
Who knows where Lafrenière would be if they trusted him from the beginning instead of toying with him endlessly? He's obviously messed up at this point and his first reflex is to get rid of the puck instead of making plays like he can do.
I want to know; if you both could put your GM hats on, what do you do with Lafrenière? M-NTC kicks in 27-28.
Personally I am tired of seeing all of our young prospects not get the time to develop, I'd like to hang onto him and offer him the Breadman's seat when he's shipped out. Different kind of guy obviously but with Kreider out and Breadman gone, 1 LW is kinda of his.

Great point on Trocheck. Great point by Brian about Panarin only thing you're not getting what he's worth ever. Trading him would be easy if Lafreniere panned out. I think the Rangers should look at players that are not proving mature enough to know that hard work trumps talent. They did it with K Miller, why not Lafreniere. That type of player should not be core to the solution. Kick the door down guys like Laba and Robertson and now Morrow too. Getting better every shift. Finally Gabe. It's a man's game. He seems to know what that means. I root he turns into Mats Zuccarello and gets less shy on the boards.
Come on guys! Team is average at best with Fox and Igor. Plus the prospects are 3rd liners at best to. Plus do you trust Drury? Hes the worst GM in the league. The dark days are here
