    Kings need to rebuild. No young star talent on roster with aging veterans. You could probably get a substantial haul for Byfield

    Looking around the league, Kings in general are not that good of a team. Sooner fandom realizes that the better. Fantasizing about 2012 repeat is not the way to go about it. Organization certainly needs a rebuild or at least many changes. Looking at the current standings, Kings are where they should be based on their play and the make up of the team. Expecting more is a bit unrealistic.

    This pick will be looked at as a late 1st round pick since columbus is so low in the standings as of right now and hopefully can be used as a bigger trade chip since we have $9M cap space right now. BUT phil leaves a big hole on our already struggling PK and with our PP being last in the league this is going to be a rough go to head into 2026.

    It will be a win if they don’t waste it on bringing in another veteran.

    Jim Hiller is not the reason the Kings are terrible. It’s because it’s a hodge hodge of a team with no real direction or identity.

    I’m fine with keeping the vets for Kopi’s last season but, yet again, I’ll hope for a fire sale in the summer. Keep the kids.

    I think there is a lot of good that can come from this trade for LA. First of all, we know that our scouts do an excellent job of identifying talent so any pick in the 2nd round is great. I've seen a lot of growth from Turcotte this year I wouldn't mind seeing him get the 3C spot for LA. Trading Danault also frees up 5.5m so we can hopefully acquire a big name. If I could choose anyone for LA to trade for it would easily be Matt Duchene. He's been one of my favorite players to watch in all of hockey, he costs 4.5 and has ELITE talent that LA desperately needs. I could also see us getting someone like Seguin who has had lots of injuries but I wouldn't mind getting him because his upside is insane.

    Put Helenius in and let him stick. That large hockey human needs reps. The more reps With Corey and/ or Mallott, the better. . He picks up a little bit from both of those guys he becomes a force for a long time. And all the way from the back row in section 310: GO KIIIIIIIINGS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!

    Why do people always say stuff like this? I swear, it's like nobody thinks before they speak anymore. Using "aging" as a reason why someone is traded or in the doghouse? Is there any player that is not aging? "Yeah, uhh, can we get one of those non-aging players in return for this aging player?" 🙄

    Eddie, cmon man… read the room. Nobody wants to play for Hiller, and he’s driving everyone out. Tbh, I have wanted Danault out for the last year, but still, this is the 3rd notable player that has wanted out of LA since Hiller’s tenure.

    Also, some of these emailers have very questionable takes, at best. Anyone who says Clarke should be benched has the same issue that Jim Hiller has. He has been easily one of the most effective defensemen

    While I can appreciate how media didn't enjoy Sutter's post game q&a, as a fan they were must see TV, the way his rubbery face would contort when a particularly absurd question was asked was comedy gold. Then there was his answers, as if he reached into the reporters chest and showed them their still beating 💓!
