The Wings need to add sooner, rather than later. Like pre-Olympics.
Trade for Josh Morrissey and Robert Thomas
Im happy razor came back in the game. I agree that's a major all day.
I'm not interested in Panarin as NYR blows up, I want Adam Fox.
I remember reading a story years ago about Fox's dad telling him to play D like this one guy and he'll win a cup. That guy was Lidstrom. Send TPH to convince him his favorite Rangers can't get him the hardware, but we will.
Ken daniels b in the michigan jew sports hall of fame and this mofos still be using anti-seminalisms
1:25:04 sad boy vibes for Ryan…
i'm wondering if i'm the only one who had this thought. This is strictly from an organizational point of view: Since we aren't there yet (still need a top 4 D and a top 6 F), would trading Gibson at the deadline for a haul be a dumb idea? Talbot and Cossa to finish the year, with Cossa taking the job next year. I'd have to think the return on Gibson would be great (prospects or current young players / not really picks i'm thinking). Rather than push in on someone like Panarin and give away prospects and players, why not get more since we aren't at our window yet. Am i nuts?
Just a thought perhaps Detroit could pursue a decent D-Man at the trade deadline. I would suggest a few that I think would be a great help to the Red Wings. Ideally it would be Mario Ferraro (San Jose), but there are also cases to be made for Justin Faulk (St Louis), Logan Stanley (Winnipeg), or Dylan Sambeerg (Winnipeg). An interesting possibility is Pavel Mintyukov (Anaheim) that might not be immediate help but more for future years.
that OT crosscheck was a solid non call
Ladies and gentlemen I’ve gone full blown delulu as the kids say. Games in hand be damned we are tied for 4th in the league in points 50 games into the season. I’m going to enjoy the good ole days while I’m in them. Add the fact they have unreal trade assets and some big names becoming available soon…I love it!! LGRW
Panarin will go to Vegas, too, and, as always, we will get no improvement of the team and middle in mediocrity for another 10 years.
Imagine this team with Olivier and Zadorov. 5 cups
I have been listening to this podcast for six years and I have never noticed that Ryan wears glasses? WTF?
Tampa, great place to live???? lol.
Kadri, ROR or B Schenn up front would make a big difference but Maybe they’re smarter adding a player like Pospisil from Calgary, who can be a fixture for the next 5-7 years. On D, likely have to go the rental route this year. Soucy,?Trouba, tyoes.
Ok, lets have some trade talk on this slow off day… Many insiders are talking about that teams are viewing this little while leading up to the Olympic break as a "soft trade deadline", simply because the leauge is more even then ever and GM's don't want to deal during the Olympics are going… I'm really glad we didn’t do that Rasmus Andersson trade, some people in here try to pin me as a "blindly swedish lover", simply because i offer more insight and opinions on swedish players with the obvious explanation that those are the guys i have more knowledge of after watching up close since they where teens. Rasmus Andersson to me have always been overrated and that prize was CRAZY to give up, specially for a rental.
Another name linked to Detroit from time to time have been Elias Pettersson. If this had been the case like 2-3 years agoo, I would have been ALL OVER IT (but lets face it, he is on the market for a reason today and 2-3 years agoo he would have been as untoucheble for Vancouver like Raymond is for us right now). But today? Well, i can't believe i'm saying this but i feel pretty good with Copp as our 2C atm and overpaying to "fix" it (where both Copp & Compher where overpaid in signings in the past for and failed at up until this season) to get a player closer to Larkin level, might not be on top of my list. Also it's all about contracts in todays NHL and Pettersson at 11,6 mil is just waaaay to much to give out for your 2C moving forward (now if Vancouver would retain 25% and get it back to our internal cap, which would then land just bellow/the same at 8,7 mil per year, it would be easier to swallow…), the prize reported seem to be something like Marko Kasper, a prospect and a first… That would be well worth it IF you feel confident that Pettersson just need a change of scenery and he can become the 100p player he was 3 years agoo, still just turnt 27yo (was drafted same draft where we took Rasmussen) so it COULD happen… But i don't want to give up on Kasper specifically since he does have an ingredience that we are otherwise lacking, which is plays physical (leads the team in hits and goes hard to the net) and still at just 21 have loads of time to continue grow…
Which leads me into a diffrent thought i had, adressing TEAM TOUGHNESS, that's been a talking point for a while… I would not give up the farm for a "tough guy" or even a guy that mostly rely on physicallity to be effective, since those seem to decline faster with the wear and tear through the years, but a thought i had to get a guy shouldn't have to give up a ton for is the Blues captain Brayden Schenn, who i always liked as a type of player Detroit could need (& Stevie Y does have a history with trading with St. Louis), who is in sure decline, but he would add something diffrent to this team who are in desperate need of grit, physicallity and some winning pedigree and playoff experience. Schenn is 34 and getting paid 6,4 mil, and that is not ideal to take on with 2 years left on his deal. But it would be a positive upgrade from Compher atleast (that would be the guy to even up the cap that i would try to include in the deal, obviously not as the "value" in the deal for the Blues but if they want more value in return it's common for a rebuilding team to take back a "bad contract") and that removes a 3rd/4th liner getting paid 5 mil to add a legit 3rd line center who could play up and down the lineup while providing some needed toughness. Go after Luke Schenn from Nashville while your at it and you get a decent upgrade on your 3rd pair aswell over JBD/Hamonic who also is very comfortable when things are getting more physical during playoff time… It would be temporary fixes, but likely wouldnt cost you much and be a upgrade of what you have atleast. Just a thought, not a groundbreaking move by any means but it would atleast add depth and well needed TOUGHNESS to this team since both Schenn brothers sure are willing combated and it would help our young prized superstar guys like (we saw in last game against Senators that targeted both) Seider & Raymond to play without getting cheapshots each and every game…
Outside of this the biggest things reported have been our obvious need of adding a top 4 dman… I love ASP's upside but lets face it he would be DESTROYED in the playoffs and you cant keep benching a young player like him everytime you are protecting a lead, it would run our top pair into the ground who already having the toughest matchups in the leauge. Dougie Hamilton would be an idea here since we do have cap space to utilize (it would shatter our internal cap though with him payed more then Larkin, which could effect Edvinsson negotiations with the hopes of him signing bellow his "open market value" which would be 9+ and Detroit likely would want him to settle in just bellow Seider at 8,5). New Jersey have tried to move Hamilton for 2 years now but his No Trade Clause have stalled it. Now they are starting to do like Chris Drury GM for the Rangers have done in the past like healthy scratch guys and threaten with put on waivers if not agreeing to trade. Probably wouldn't cost much at all to get since it would be the cap dump that is the value in it for the Devils, and it would set up Detroit for 2 years of usage of Hamilton services and extra runway for ASP to trouly be ready for a top 4 min role… Outside of him i don't know what right handed dman that's available this season that ALSO comes at an affordable prize. If Calgary are gonna flip Zach Whitecloud (that was mostly a throw-in to make the cap work for Vegas to take on Andersson, still just at 2,75 mil for next 2 years) i would definitely be interested in that aswell since he is an elite PK 1 guy and a defensive sound shotblocking machine. Thoughts?
Yzerman would never trade for panarin dude lol. It's not even worth discussing.
Here we go again with the goldilocks trade mentality. "This player is too old" "too expensive" "will cost too much to acquire". Nearly every player on the trading block gets the same old cliches.
Using our brains as a prediction model is a complete waste of time in this age.
Panarin could easily do what pavelski/crosby have done on the wrong side of 30, but none of us can predict that.
Im not arguing for or against trading for him, just tired of the rhetoric involved in hypothetical trades.
One question to ask "why are people ok with taking Dougie Hamilton's 9 mil for 2 years but say panarins next contract would be too much?" (Cost of acquiring obviously being the main argument)
AI generated answer was 10.1 mil for 3 years on yeast mode's next contract.
Thinking about JVR a moment…. That man must be having a huge impact on the young players. His calm, finesse, confidence – just coming off in spades. We can't really see the interpersonal chemistry behind the scenes, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that this team isn't even close to what it's doing without him on the team. LGRW!
Panarin is the only guy Yzerman might actually be fine with as a rental. I think the Rangers are going to be underwhelmed with the offers.
Mazur is looking swoll
I just hope Soda gets to keep playing his minutes, feels like as soon as he starts playing better thats when he gets sat down and loses his momentum, I really like the way he plays and we are starting to see how good his hands are now as well
MICK IS THE MAN!!!!!!💯
