I guess I was putting all of the goalie question marks on Muse. I think he's done a great job so far but haven't understood the rotation thing… It makes more sense now, seeing that I can't recall a team ever having as many trade "assets" as Dubas has acquired. When will we have enough 3rd and 4th round picks stocked up that we don't need more? 🤘🤘
Just had this discussion with myself recently and we decided Skinner should be the number 1 goalie and move the other guy out.
Skinner needs to be our workhorse. Seems pretty obvious. I’m a fan of Dubas. He’s also been killing it.
So awesome they competing but in back of mind knowing pens are the rebuilding process. Dubas sitting on pile of cap space like a warren buffett and 30 something picks over next 2 yrs he is in a nice place.
Arturs playing well, team front of him must rise a level. Shooters must to realize shootouts.
Ned is playing well for the Sharks. DeSmith is playing well for the Stars. Rodriguez is playing well for the Panthers. Blueger is playing well for the Canucks. Develop the talent you have.

I can't shake the feeling that, Skinner being an FA, he will not be here past the trade deadline. I also can't shake the feeling that this rotation is about allowing each goalie adequate rest, recovery, and preparation for their next game in order to maximize their performance and trade value. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if both Silovs and Skinner are traded and the Pens finish the year with Murashov and Blomqvist.
A far cry from the hissy fit you threw when jarry was traded for skinner.

If youre going to rotate ridiculously, just ride the hot goaltender. If you win you're in again, and if you lose you're out. Simple system, promotes competition, puts the best man in every night.
