It needs to be pointed out that Reimer was .909 in regulation. The 1 goal on 1 shot in OT seriously skews that stat and isn't representative of how well he played.
Reimer had a great game it's unfortunate his team mates had to make his debut hard for him getting 5 penalties in this game. I like what I see from him though and I'd say he claims that backup goalie spot over Leevi when Ullmark is back
The worst part of this game was Brady's undisciplined play and his brutal lazy pass up the boards behind Timmy where he couldn't possibly retrieve it in time. That ultimately cost possession in OT and led to the rush that won the game in OT. Sure Timmy could have tried to back check harder but Brady having no good option and since he was unwilling to skate with the puck after just receiving it from Timmy (!!!) should have just sent it back into our zone for retrieval. That was such a low IQ play. It's the kind of thing we are used to seeing from this captain over and over. This just wasn't good enough from the captain on a night where he had to be a positive factor. James Reimer wasn't just average he was amazing today. Comes in ICE COLD to the NHL and posts a 900 SV% in regulation, faces 30+ shots!!! You kidding me? That's unreal. He played his heart out there. What a pro honestly. Having been a sens rival and then comes in and plays with that much heart. Last night was on the goaltending. Tonight was on everything but the goaltending. This is the time folks. This is when you blow it up. It's over. It's done. The Tkachuk era is a failure. Trade him. I'm done with this captain. Let's get our first round pick and let's get a winter for Timmy. Let's move past this era and re tool around Timmy and Sandy. Gotta get assets for giroux, perron and Jensen at the deadline as well. This ain't getting it done this year or next year I'm sorry. Would also strongly consider dealing batherson.
Playoffs ??? 🤣
Reimer bought us a point with some key saves in the third.
What an embarassment of a team.
I’ve been a die hard Sens fan for a couple decades. I’ve been a positive fan for the majority of it.
But right now, with the talent on the team, where this team is, the mistakes they make, the hiring of 2 coaches in a row that were not the right coach for the team, and seeing the effects of the previous bad ownership and bad management still lingering (no 1st rd pick this year, young goalies that were traded or given up on, etc), I’m just done for awhile with this team.
I don’t see this going anywhere to close to a cup in the next few years. Brady will leave when his contract is up (or before that) and it will be another rebuild.
Send Brady home to St.Louis! Work a trade around Robert Thomas for Brady! Make it happen. Makes us faster and smarter. Thomas even kills penalties! We would have two elite top centers! Let’s go!
Between Cousins, Perron, Tkachuk, and Greig it's a fucking parade to the box every night. To be honest I'm tired of Perron because sure he's decent on the PP but half the time he's trying to make up for being in the box and them giving one up on the PK
Undisciplined penalties…
And can our goaltenders make one fuckin save !!!!
You know what, there’s been a lot of negativity from myself included but I’m taking this one as a positive. Yesterday really sucked but we finally got some decent goaltending. If anything, the team can at least have a bit more confidence knowing they’ll get a save or two. Let’s see what happens…
last game , we can blame the goalie. now what ? the whole team !!!! The whole turning point is when Nick Cousins reckless penalty. The whole momentum are gone….
What an absolutely gutless cheap shot by your boy Grieg tonight trying to blindside Raymond with a shoulder to his chin for no reason. Equally as shameful as a sucker punch and Grieg got what he deserved.
The game was great overall tonight but my god I’m tired of the box parade. The team is getting frustrated because they haven’t been winning, understandably so, but the penalties are not helping whatsoever. We know our PK is terrible, but god if you know your PK is struggling, why put them in that position to begin with. Without those penalties tonight, we would have walked out of that building with a Win instead of giving up 2 PP goals. We have to stop taking stupid penalties. Reimer played exactly like we wanted him to. He played like a vet and when your PK can’t clear the puck, he can only stop so many
Excellent show, guys. Always impressed with your format, and great work sticking to grounded knowledge even moments after a game. Keep up the good work!
Good call on Chatbot. He certainly stood out to me as well. I think the Jackets will be a get-right game for the Sens, though.
