SO many accolades due Big Z. At the top is the fact that he came in WANTING to be a leader and improve the Bruins organization. He even said so in his firm, but not arrogant, way. He certainly did. Hard work, teaching and mentoring so many young players, McAvoy learned a ton from him – both defense and character and leadership. Z is instrumental in making the Bruins again a successful franchise since he has been there. Now he runs marathons for fun – it just figures.
You guys really couldn't stream this ceremony for those of us who don't have a subscription? What a middle finger to the fans
I saw Zdeno playing for the Prince George Cougars against the Calgary Hitmen. Three Hitmen were carried off the ice injured after charging Zdeno. He hardly blinked
God I miss Jack Edwards (and Big Z)
Problem with the Bruins is they are too concerned about the past to be concerned with what happens in the preset or the future because when thigs arent going well, they can always retire someones number, talk about retiring someone's number, reminisce about the number they retired, or sign someone to too long a contract for too much money for someone who, league-wide its known, that the Bruins coddle their player the most of any team and dont hold them accountable for bad performance. And when you're doing that, you aret concered about doing the things that need to be done and just play grab-ass every day.
Big Zee is an all era Bruin…I became a Bruins fan in the early 1970’s…Would’ve like to have Big Zee playing in that decade of great Bruins Hockey too..Zdeno Chara would’ve been a natural fit for Big Bad Bruins back then!
Very cool, it's good to see Johnny "The Chief" Bucyk is still kicking, of course Orr and Cam & all the others…
We've heard of the legend Bufford Pusser the Sheriff from down south that carried a Big Stick dealing out Justice.
Well, there was another man who besides walking tall, he skated tall & also carried a big stick & who also dealt out Justice not on the streets, but on the Ice… 🏒 Zdeno Charra #33 whose having his number retired and lifted up into the rafters at TD Garden…Boston Mass. and the 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame too…Congratulations & well deserved, Nice Job! BIG ZEE 🏒
Riley Nash…..not Rick Nash
More went in off of him than he ever blocked. Was on the team way longer than he should have.
