My favorite part of leafs hater lore is how they all called marner overpaid soft garbage for almost 10 years, now all of a sudden he's a superstar and the leafs are screwed without him. Can't make this shit up

I’m about to type Mitch Marner for the first time since he walked and it will be the last time for a long time because I couldn’t possibly care any less about the guy. I haven’t paid attention to Vegas and how they are doing and I was happy because I managed to go almost 7 full months without hearing his name. It was beautiful. I don’t care about what he accomplished with the Leafs. He didn’t accomplish the only thing that matters and then walked like a whiny bitch. Dude doesn’t deserve any more room in my head and I’m still incredibly happy he isn’t a Leaf anymore. And after the next game, I don’t have to hear his name for the rest of the season. That puts a huge smile on my face and makes my heart feel warm.

I was at this game last night. Watching Leafs fan boo Marner WHILE WEARING HIS JERSEY was definitely a choice.

Im sorry but the fact so many were defending Matthew’s shows this team and fanbases state, defending that is loser mentality,
He clearly wanted the glory and wanted to score or make the play to win, long shift, tired and instead of changing up he wanted to be the hero… that is not team success, and for fans to back him up shows the fanbases doesn’t truly understand winning culture

I honestly think the only way to cheer for this team is to expect nothing. Don’t expect them to win Game 7s. Don’t expect a deep playoff run. Don’t expect them to hold a lead. Don’t expect Matthews to hit 70 goals, expect 69, because that’s just how it always goes. Every time Leafs Nation wants something badly, they come up short. And I can pretty much guarantee that when Vegas comes to Toronto in a couple of weeks, they’ll find a way to let us down again.
