McDavid or MacKinnon: Who’s more valuable to their team?
Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan are joined by ESPN Hockey analyst Ray Ferraro to discuss the dominance of Connor McDavid this season and the art ross battle between him and Nathan MacKinnon.
McDavid hands down. McDavid has a better sidekick in Draisaitl compared to Necas but apart from that Mackinnon's surrounded by a better goaltending tandem, D core, and secondary scoring group. If you take Mackinnon off Colorado they would be nowhere near as good but they would still make the playoffs. Take McDavid off EDM and…. well they would most likely be missing the playoffs
Its only half way through the year. Bit premature crowning a MVP. Kuch is just getting warmed up. Over the last 20 games Kuch scored 40 pts. Mac had 37 in 20. Yeah lets forget about the reinging scoring champ, 😂.
McDavid and it's not close. The Oilers bottom 6 have done virtually nothing this season. Without McDavid on the team, they're likely a bottom 5 team this year. Without MacKinnon the Avs still make the playoffs fairly easily.
