I think it's kinda funny that Sportsnet has 'Capitals Alex Ovechkin' as the headline, like what other Alex Ovechkin? Most goals of all time and the face of the league along with Crosby for 15 years or so. I think people know that he plays for the Caps.
What’s really crazy to me and seems completely normal to you guys in the US and Canada is that top players like Ovi, Crosby, etc. basically never change teams. I come from Europe, where soccer is huge, and over here it’s totally normal that even top players don’t stay with one club for more than three to five years on average. You don’t really know that from the NHL at all, and that must be such a blessing, not having to worry every season about losing the face of your franchise. I think it’s different in the NBA or the NFL for you guys as well.
