  1. This is a win win for both. He is happy to play here and he will try to prove himself for the next contract after the 2 years. This is a fair bargain for both parties. if he does well, he will make it up on the next contract.

  2. I am not sure how well this will age. When everyone is back not sure if he even has a place. I would have waiting to end of year at least to see if he keeps up the pace or goes back to how he was before.

  3. We should all be concerned that slav was out at the end of overtime instead of cole…also slav was out there for all 3 goals last night

  4. what about the following trio evens at center Blais left wing texier or veleno right wing? on left a grinder at center a good 4th line center and Texier or Veleno bot have good skate veleno can take face offs good on 200 feet ??

  5. If you watched him before montreal he doesn't play well in bottom 6 role and isn't good enough for top 6.

Good signing but without being top 6 his stats will definitely drop. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  6. honestly what this contract does is allow the habs to build an amazing 3rd line with a star play driver leading it. we can have a straight defensive 4th line to do match-ups.

  7. Texier is a good middle six guy that will add some depth and give us some options. 🙂 But he does not belong on the first line and probably not PP1. Great deal for $2.5! My answer is ALWAYS going to be: if Hughes is happy, if MSL is happy, if the players are happy, and if Texier is happy, then I am happy. I don't pretend to know stuff I can't know.

  8. Why does this team refuse to shoot from the slot? They don't seem to realize that the target is larger if you shoot from a central position. They would get a LOT more goals if they fired from the middle of ice. If you have watched Pickfords highlights you will see that 80% of his shots are from middle ice, and are aimed at both sides of the net. MSL, wakeup and get these players shooting from the sweet spot!

  9. What a heck of a deal.
Two years means also he has all the time to improve his game.
Maybe to cash in with an age of 28?!
    Win win win.
Hughes and Gorton are doing a hell of a job.
Now we need a stable Goalie that is able to steal games, giving the Defense a good feeling.
Fowler is on the best path compared to Monty and Dobes.
And don't forget our rising young stars Pickford and Zharovsky

  10. Serious thought, do we have the cap space to reel in McDavid if he decided not to stick with the Oilers after his bridge deal is done?! :O

  11. This has got to be texiers dream come true. It's like he never left France . Over 200000 French citizens living in montreal

  12. Really, he's regaining part of his old contract. Texier is a good utility player to fill in various roles including PP2 and PK. Mind you those stats on Gallagher are very inflated.

  13. That's a great team-friendly contract for the Habs, and also damn nice for Texier considering his last contract was terminated outright. This just makes HuGo's move to acquire him look even BETTER than it already did. I don't always agree with a lot of HuGo's moves, but this one is GOLDEN! Thanks for putting this out Josh!

  14. I’m a huge supporter of the way to rebuild is to develop your own prospects but….What do you think it would cost us in a trade for Brayden Schenn ? He’s a leader , team player, can play center or wing, and would add much needed toughness to the forward group. He has 2years remaining on his contract after this season , 32 years old and the Blues are fourth from the bottom in the League. I’m thinking they’ll be sellers at or before the trade deadline. We do have an abundance of prospects in most positions and veteran players and yes, there are some A prospects that are untouchables.
