Are The Canucks About To TRADE Elias Pettersson?? | FN Barn Burner

Boomer, Pinder and Rhett dive into the Vancouver Canucks, who currently sit dead last in the NHL and appear to be in full tank mode for the first overall pick. With TSN’s Darren Dreger reporting that the Canucks are open for business, the guys debate whether Vancouver could actually consider moving Elias Pettersson. What would he be worth on the trade market, and could a change of scenery help him rediscover his game?

  1. Vancouver needs to retain on Pettersson to trade him and Calgary has 20 teams that want Kadri? Somebody needs to reasonably explain this.

  2. Yeah, well it isn't like JT Miller is doing any better than Petterson. Look at the disaster the Rangers are.

  3. Vancouver is stuck with Pettersson the same way that Calgary is stuck with Kadri. The narrative that 20 teams want Kadri is soon going to be changing to "the Flames are keeping Kadri to teach the young guys to win". It's going to be a few more years before we recover from the Summer of Brad.

  4. I heard the BC Lions mite take on an undersized soft Center, but he/she needs to be a Canadian-born player or the 'nux have to retain US$11,599,000. (With the exchange the Lions make some dough w that but don't tell the 'nux)

  5. Hey smellers….yes.. pettersons a tad overpaid…and has some attitude. But…in a quiet situation, with some talented big wingers, maybe…pops. a Carolina move could work. Nucks have to take back kotimieni money…making the numbers more pallitable. A 1st, a prospect and perhaps a stankoven

  6. You can’t get franchise centres, so why would the Canucks trade the only one they have at present who could ever be a franchise centre?

  7. Penguins have the cap space to take him without needing Vancouver to retain, and playing 3C in Pittsburg for a couple years would let him get his game back in shape.

  8. 11.6 mill a year for a tanking team? 😮‍💨👌 dam thats the dream 😮‍💨👌 when you need a spare 11 million a year, Vancouver is the place to go ❤

  9. it made sense for Van to trade him before his NMC kicked in, now there's little to no chance it happens

  10. Pettersson, if traded, would want to go to a good team, as it’s 100% his decision. The combination of a team that has ~$12M available and also in contention is extremely rare, not to mention that team would have to have credible assets to give back. So I give it a less than 1% chance

  11. If he had wingers he would be back already. He’s playing hurt right now. He’s the only player on the ice doing anything individually. Debrusk and Kane and karlsson aren’t exactly helping the dude out . Petey is fuckin sick.

  12. Pettersson is soft and can't handle adversity, good luck getting rid of him especially since he makes 11.6M for a lot more years.

  13. I have no problem with Petterson being traded as a fan of Van. But they need his on paper stats to improve. Players like Boeser have hurt him. I watch all the games and he deserves better stats.
