Wang is pronounced 'Wong'.
Good that he's playing with a team that's likely to play a big role in the OHL playoffs, maybe a bunch of those bigger games.
Its strange how guys that big take so long to figure out how to use their body. Happened with guys like Mrkta, too. Seems like the very tall and thin take a few extra years to figure out leverage, and smaller guys get under them. Tall d-men just seem to take time — like 'til age 23-25 — to get it right. Though maybe he pulls a Lian Bischel and gets useful sooner.
Wang won’t be ready until 23+ years old
Defensemen MUST be able to skate with puck. They can't just flick the puck out off the glass all the time. Skate and pass the puck out of the zone.
The pick confused me when it happened and I still don't like it as much as I try to justify it in my mind. Alexander Zharovsky picked right after might be a stud and there were 4 other big RHD that were taken in the top 50 or so that hopefully don't hit. Hope Grier is right about this one down the road 🤷♀
Blah blah blah UUUUUUH…blah blah blah UUUUUUH, UUUUUUH UUUUUUH! Dude, write a script and read it. It's hard to follow when you pause to "uuuuuh" every other word. I didn't even make it to the 5 minute mark.
Excellent episode JD! Love it when you review the prospects!
Like that Wang is progressing and getting better time. Ravensbergen is just looking better and better!
If Allan can figure into a bottom pair shutdown LD to pair with Iorio on the right for the future I would be very very happy! Never know, Iorio could end up a decent 4.
If both Iorio and Allan make the NHL as a 5-7 for a fourth round pick I would say that is great asset management.
I really hope we aren’t pressing him to learn an offensive game. We need guys like him to provide shutdown d far more than being another cog in the offense.
If he finds a 2 way game that’s great, but they picked him up for his d, size and skating ability.
