Jarry Back in Net: What Happens to Pickard and Ingram Now?

The Edmonton Oilers are starting Tristan Jarry again… but they’re also keeping Calvin Pickard and not sending down Connor Ingram. So what does this goalie shuffle really mean?

In this Short, we break down:

Why Jarry is back in net
Why Pickard is staying in Edmonton
Why the Oilers won’t send down Ingram
How the cap and waivers factor into the decision

Do you like the idea of running with three goalies, or should the Oilers make a move?

  1. No rush – let Jarry play for a bit, make sure he doesn’t re-injur before sendings picks down.

  2. Regardless of anyone's opinion on Ingram vs. Pickard (Ingram has looked great so far, but it's still a small sample size, and he has yet to play that "we're hanging you out to dry tonight" fiasco that both Skinner and Pickard experienced regularly earlier in the season), it would be a REALLY BIG mistake to send Pickard down (we WILL lose him there are multiple teams like Vegas with goalie injury problems that would LOVE to grab the goalie that went 7-1 in the playoffs last year and costs 1 mill) and then have Jarry get hurt again. If the team is ok with and can carry all 3 then fine, but if you're sending someone down, it's just DUMB to risk losing Pickard at this stage. Send down Ingram, and see how Jarry & Picks do towards the trade deadline and then make a decision then

  3. Trade jarry …. for Klim Koston.. then Fred doesn’t have to get beat up every game ..plus Klim had 2 goals in 7 playoff games with Edmonton…

  4. Finally people are seeing pickard is NOT the 1B, he’s a great 3rd option. Ingram is definitely what we needed
