  1. There's going to be a lot of people there tonight who booed this man every time he touched the puck in another uniform. They know who they are, and I'll never forgive them.

  2. and from this night forth, the Red Wings never went below 91 Points in a regular season ever again

  3. This guy could make a killing being a PR trainer for celebrities. The amount of class that he has is exceptional especially when you remember how much of a ladies man he was back then

  4. I was 29 years when he joined the Wings. It was the beginning of the golden age and he was an integral part of it. When they finally won that first cup, I was at the parade (and wondered who the cute little blonde in the leopard skin dress that was with him was – Anna Kornakova). So I'm sitting here watching this and the f** tears won't stop. Welcome home Sergei. Welcome home.

  5. Habs fan here, Sergei is my fav' player all time.
Skill, grace, swagger, clutch, sportsmanship, leadership, speed, grit. This guy had it all. So lucky and grateful to have seen him play! Congrats 91!!! Well overdue and deserved!

  6. He should atleast be a scout in Russia for the Wings. If not back in the Org full time! Come back home Sergei!

  7. I would say growing up, Sergei was my favorite player. Im so happy for him and his family tonight, it's beyond well deserved.

  8. I got to meet Him after an Islanders game on long Island where I live, he signed my jersey, I thanked him, he was so kind!!!! I'm so happy for him and his wife and children ❤ It's breaking my heart that I can't be there IN Detroit 😭😭😭 But at least I got to witness perhaps the GREATEST (IMO) Hockey player of my generation!!! CONGRATULATIONS SERGEI, AND THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE GREATEST MEMORIES, ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL EVENING, WITH LOVE AND MEMORIES FROM LONG ISLAND N.Y, LGRW #91❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

  9. Sergei Federov was my favorite athlete growing up I wanted to be him I learned to skate bc of him and her my hair out like him! I wanted to be 91! 91 to me was Hockeytown AS MUCH AS 19! I always thought it funny 19 and 91

  10. Detroit is home! 91 is Home! You belong here with Hockeytown Sergei we love you like our own! Growing up I wanted to be 91 I learned to skate bc of 91! Thank you Sergei!

  11. I met him as an 8 year old at a dealership while i was there with my dad and Sergei was buying a dodge viper. All we had was a random piece of paper but he signed it and signed everything of everyones that came up to him. Memory i'll never forget. Myself and all my friends that played hockey as a kid knew those nike skates and we all wanted them because he was wearing them. He deserves this and its about time.

  12. '88 born here. Sergei was my first favorite hockey player. I had to be there tonight, and I'm so proud of this dude. What a class act, and I dare say, one of the best speeches for this kind of thing I've ever heard.

  13. Sergei! Thank you! Just, love! You know you were amazing, right?! You are a treasure, and will always be grateful to have got to see you fly! ❤😊

  14. My favorite player. I loved watching Yzerman but I didn't get to see Steve's early career. I was born in 86. I missed his early career but I got see all of Sergei's Red Wings career. He was the most electrifying and best two way player I've seen and still haven't seen one like him. Sergei Fedorov is one of the most unique players in the history of the NHL not just the Red Wings. This was long overdue. Sergei Fedorov is the reason our team won those Cups. So many fans, journalists, and even teammates like to claim Sergei didn't try his hardest every game but 91 brought it when it mattered most 20 points in the playoffs for 4 straight years from 95-98 and 19 points in 2002. The Wings wouldn't have won those Cups without him. He was sensational and worth the price of admission by himself.

  15. В детстве играл против него на севере СССР в юношеском турнире , мы жили в соседних городах .. Он уже тогда был хорошим хоккеистом. Наша команда проиграла 11 : 0😢😂..

  16. Sergei is always so refreshing to hear in interviews. He delivered one of the most genuine and heartfelt HoF speeches too.

  17. I grew up loving Sergei, playing street hockey pretending to be him…. Always my favorite player. This makes me so happy, and even more so to see the personal side of him, which makes me like him even more. He seems to have grown into a wonderful, mature, and thoughtful older gentleman.

  18. Fedorov was simply Electric. When he touched the puck he had the highest likelihood of scoring or making an important play. I remember watching him at the Joe, on tv and feeling chills every time he hit the ice. His hockey mind, speed, intensity, power, stickhandling, and grace were rarely matched in his era. I feel so fortunate to have watched him play and win for our team. This is a well-deserved honor.

  19. A true ambassador of the game. It was always fun to watch him play. He is very talented, smart and very classy! Congratulations Sergei!

  20. Honestly I got those white Nike skates and they are heavy as hell. No comparison with modern skates which are very light. and Sergei says his Nike skates were light back then

  21. It never felt right seeing him booed in Detroit. It never felt right hearing the stories about him being on bad terms with the team. I’m so happy that everyone put their best foot forward and all this has gone down the way it has.
