I underestimated Macklin Celebrini…
In this video, I look at the 19-year-old San Jose Sharks phenom’s rise to NHL superstardom.
From minor hockey in Vancouver, shattering USHL records with the Chicago Steel, winning the Hobey Baker at Boston University, going first overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, and his stellar rookie season, to his insane 2025-26 sophomore dominance, the guy is a legit Hart Trophy candidate.
Highlights include his spin-o-rama beauty against the Calgary Flames that made him the fastest Shark ever to 50 points (in just 34 games), and earning a spot on Canada’s 2026 Olympics roster with legends like Crosby, McDavid, and MacKinnon.

Go Macklin and Go Sharks
According to Don Maloney, this is fantasy hockey
Holy glazing. The guy has excelled for half of one season in a year where no one can defend. Just wait.
McKenna will save the Flames 🔥
I thought he would be an awesome 🤩 player but not this soon
god watching the sharks has been so fun
Magic Mack, is going to become the face of the league.
Love the WEM clips.❤🎉
Go lil Big Mac go!
Stick taps for Grier. He's bringing in the pieces, the future is TEAL!
SHARKS FINALLY GETTING RECOGNIZED AGAIN!
lol thank goodness scouts don’t take your advice because boy you was alll the way wrong lol 🤷🏽
I watched him play (for the first time in person) two weeks ago against the Kings here in LA.
He was already having a great game, he just seems to always be in the right position to make a play. I remember saying to myself “…yeah, ok, he’s a good player.” …and then…
With under 2 min in the game, down by 1, he turned it up. Split the D – shoots – Scores. Tie game. I couldn’t believe it, it was deliberate precision. Not a panic blast from the blue line, he just wanted to do that and he did it.
In OT he didn’t get selfish, on a 2 on 1 he pulled the defender and goalie over just enough to make a perfect pass. Game over – Sharks Win 🦈
I’m not crowning him anything yet, but I can say this… I haven’t been this excited for these Sharks from San Jose in a very long time. But Macklin Celebrini is giving me every reason to be excited for the foreseeable future… go Sharks 🦈
Sharks fan from the beginning here. The first time I saw Mack in a BU game I thought "His skating is like Jumbo Joe's, no stops and starts, just smooth maneuvering." All BEFORE he lived with Jumbo. TV color guy Drew Rememda commented that Mack never looks down at the puck on his stick, he sees everything all at once. He IS a generational player. Once Will Smith comes back from injury Mack's numbers will go up ever more. The Future Is Teal!!
6:15 he actually still lives with Jumbo 😂
Playing the old goal song was the icing on the cake. The tank would go absolutely nuts if they brought it back.
This young man's emotional maturity is outstanding. Growing up in the Celebrini household and getting a chance to watch Golden State Warrior icons handle themselves in front of the press compliment his athletic skills on the ice. The last player I saw with that level of diplomatic skills plus athleticism was Gretzky.
Surprised that someone who has such good taste in music could have possibly overlooked Celebrini's talent!!!
🦈🏒🦾
as a life long Sharks fan living in sj for half my life I feel blessed to have Macklin Celebrini and the rest of this roster his young and scary good. Misa still on the back burner
Elite music taste
Crosby saying he wants to play on a line with Macklin for team Canada pretty much says it all.
I've been a Sharks fan from the beginning. Those absolute trash tier teams playing in South San Francisco racking up loss after loss. Took awhile for the team to have any success. The Ov line, Irbe, Ozolinsh, Rat, Ray Whitney, Fat Baloon.. That 94 team was so much fun to watch. Who remembers Jeff Odgers?!
After that on to Thornton bringing in a new era of exciting hockey.
It's been a rough stretch for team teal, but finally this year the team has some pep in their step. I don't have high hopes for the playoffs, but at least you can watch them without the paper bag on your head. The front office is killing it, and I couldn't be happier for the kid. Here's to hoping he's one of the ones to life San Jose's first Stanley Cup!
Yes!! Will and Mack are going the nuts. Go Sharks
I live 10 mins from the Tank. Been to at least 10 games so far this year. Its all to watch this 19 year old KID dominate the NHL. He is the best player this organization has ever had. Step aside Jumbo, Patty, Selanne, Pavelski, Nolan, Karlsson, Burns and the rest. Macklin is better than all of them.
Passes like Jumbo, skate like Marleau, shoots like Pavelski. I can't wait to see what he does next!
