The “struggles” are based on a poorly assembled team, and a coaching regime that apparently does not fit the roster. The team have more individual skill than their collective results show. But this is a fast, team sport. Can’t have nonsensical penalty’s, you can’t have so many passes that either miss their intended target or get intercepted, you can’t survive if you can’t get the puck out of you own zone, you can’t survive if your notion of ‘puck possession” is icing or dumping for a line change, and on and on …. I watched the Ottawa broadcast tonight. Want to learn what went on and where the breakdowns occurred and the subsequent exploitation? Listen to them announce the game. Very fair. Very blunt. Very detailed. And for LaFreniere? Thanks for your offense tonight. And thanks for not showing up for most of the season to date.
