Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan discuss different players that need to take control of games and make an impact for the Maple Leafs to have some success.
Whoa guys you are missing the vision. The superstars are going to score goals at a 50/60/70 goal clip. Get the team to the dance and because they are so wimpy when the hitting starts, the thugs will make room for them to win the cup. It is all very clear. When you look at the Tree's track record of championship hockey this is how teams are built. The die was cast for this fiasco when Tree was stolen (lmao) from Calgary, you can start firing coaches, till you end up with a John Brody, and Rocky Saganuik, before the rebuild starts. But this group is done, whether its now or 2029.
Yea its all connected to the brain. Mathews wants to be ready for the Olympics. What ever happened to the "he is not 100%, but just having him for the PP is good". Joke. Also keep in mind he needs to be strong for his next Contract, at 32 his agent says if you have a great year in 27/28 that could be 20 Mill for 4 more years. Don't want to waste your self here and mis that. Repeat after me, "I love Toronto".
None of Trelivings moves have panned out with any success. Signing old often injured defenseman goalies and washed up forwards. Traded away draft capital and good prospects for a bag of lemons. That's some great vision there MLSE Keith Pelley.
Max Domi is the biggest floater on this team, i hate to say this b/c i was excited when he came to the Leafs, but this year, wow..just watch him for a shift, he never engages with anyone, turns away from body contact, always trying to feed a pass like he's Gretzky, I think Berube needs to start benching these floaters, bring up Marlies, why did Berube take Quillan out of the lineup for Blais on Saturday? The Leafs always do this , even sending Cowan down, he should never have been sent down…im old enough to remember the 80's, we're not there yet, but its getting close LOL
I wouldn't trade Engstrom. I'd prefer to keep Xhekaj. I like Struble but he's expendable. Matheson needs to sign max 4 years, max 7 million. Less would be ideal. Remember, Guhle is still here. Hopefully he doesn't keep getting hurt.
Not sure what’s going on, all these injuries like Stolarz Carlo Knies like when did it happen and Matthew’s day to day? Rumors of the coach loosing the room but is it? Is it some players not getting along? or is it both coach and player or is it just a really weird situation? one thing is for sure these players are capable and we’ve seen them be very capable of winning, but all of a sudden some of them seem like they don’t care and it really does remind me of when shanny had to implement his plan 10 years ago
Mathew’s is a soft wimp all leaf players are soft over paid babies you wouldn’t see Doug Gilmour miss games because of a little upper body ailment total babies😂😂
You guys critisize , you are ' negative on Monday' ( and actually you don' t hate it, you Love it to Be negative).
Pls put on the discussion some solutions and positivity . Maybe you don' t have neither.
You always take that ticket price issue on table. That' s irrelevant. Either you support or not.
It seems that the Leafs roster is mediocre, or below mediocre. They are slow, not much creativity, just occasional grinding. Only two Star players on roster, and they play unstable.
So what you can actually expect? Imho only that goalie have to play every time a phenomal game. Then the team has a chance to win.
max domi is the strangest thing, how could he score 70 points one year for mtl and then look like he doesnt understand hockey, specifically the timing of plays, shoots when he should pass, passes when he should shoot. great guy, seems like a great teamate, has stuck up for the boysh on multiple occasions but i think his time has come to an end – bench him – quillan is better.. anyone is better
O Dog is right. They have 2 fourth liners playing in the Top six. McMann, Robertson, Jarnkrok, Joshua, Maccelli, Domi, Myers, Reilly all don't play up to expectations. Trade, send down or let their contracts run out.
Matthews should've been traded a couple years ago when he scored 69 goals. He's only played two full seasons and his injuries are often in his wrists. Dude is going to be a liability and they aren't going to win with him. They could get #1 in this year's draft, trade Matthews for top 1-2 D, forward… something. They shouldn't keep him until his contract's up.
when media ppl are complaining about lack of news then the Leafs must be doing something right. The media thrives on news and clicks and this lack of news only hurts them.
Let me be blunt, all of these guys were brought in as mid string guys… there to support the big guns. 2 of the bug guns are producing…. nicely. But they cant do it all. The fact is… that the BIG gun… is now fully exposed as what he always was… a POP gun… without marner feeding his one trick game. Trade mathews now… remember this statememt… his stock is falling rapidly. He is and only ever was…. 2nd line caliber at best… with a shot. 2nd liner on his best day on any other team. Now he doesnt have Marner, and his shot is gone from whatever freekin bobo he has this week.
Let's be real, Berube thought Maccelli was a top 6 playmaker. He actually might be – but just in the AHL. Berube thought Joshua was some stud he knew from St Louis that every single person was wrong about. Turns out only he was wrong.
I love Noodles but, come on, even he has to have had enough of trying to look on the positive side of this dumpster fire. There doesn't seem to be any answers. So we Leaf fans have to wait another 50 years? I haven't got that much time. I watched them win in '66/'67 at 8 years old and I'm pretty sure that was it. Mind you MLSE sure has a lot of money, don't they?
The lack of depth scoring, for much of last month, ultimately led to the Leafs’ having played six straight games during which they would score no more than two goals in regulation in any of them.

Brendan Shanahan chose Kyle Dubas, and later Brad Treliving, over Mark Hunter. This makes one wonder how things might have unfolded differently.

Noodles is trying way too hard to stay positive about the Leafs. He's not being realistic.
Aren’t these same clowns the ones who ran marner out of town ? This same panel said the leafs are a better and deeper team after replacing Marner ??
O-Dog Needs to be fired
I think all Toronto sports media should stop giving this team coverage. Just ignore them.
Not sure what’s going on, all these injuries like Stolarz Carlo Knies like when did it happen and Matthew’s day to day? Rumors of the coach loosing the room but is it? Is it some players not getting along? or is it both coach and player or is it just a really weird situation?

Marner walks. We now need a Marner. Irony.
Pay them too much to care no character trade Mathews tear it down
How can nobody in leaf land recognize that this disaster called TML is bad by design and not accidental I will never know 😢
Let the rebuild begin tank this season get a first round pick 😂
Mathew’s is a soft wimp all leaf players are soft over paid babies you wouldn’t see Doug Gilmour miss games because of a little upper body ailment total babies😂😂
The uncomfortable truth that everyone keeps tip-toeing around is – Matthews is cooked. He hasn't looked right since he was chasing 70.
I’ll trade you Quinn Hughes for knies and 2 firsts

players should not get time off for hurt feelings
Really? A fight from Joshua at the start of the game would fix this team?
I still have my paper bag from the Ballard years. Might have to start wearing it.

Joshua & Machelli have been a bust.
O Dog is right. They have 2 fourth liners playing in the Top six. McMann, Robertson, Jarnkrok, Joshua, Maccelli, Domi, Myers, Reilly all don't play up to expectations. Trade, send down or let their contracts run out.
Macelli can make a pass and has a shot at least, Joshua doesn’t even play hockey adeqautely lol
Maybe all you assholes who dumped on Marner last couple of years are finally realizing how great he was
I thought Toronto had reasonably good forward depth on the bottom 6. It doesn't seem to be the case.
Has anyone put Hayes on suicide watch?
Treliving is pathetic. He loses every trade he makes. He is Shanahans last folly
Treliving needs to be fired terrible free agent signings and terrible trades you can’t blame it all on Dubas’s stupid no trade clauses

Blaming the complementary pieces, typical Leafs fan coping.
The core is rotten. Matthews is not captain material.
Worst pickups yet
Rebuild 2.0 on the way 🤔
Toronto is finding about Joshua, what Vancouver already knew.
when media ppl are complaining about lack of news then the Leafs must be doing something right. The media thrives on news and clicks and this lack of news only hurts them.
Why are grown men debating a child's game?

We all love to see them suck but as a leafs hater even I know they’re a 2 game win streak from being back in the conversation
welcome to the Leafs without Marner..get used to it lol
first move the Leafs need to do is get rid of Jamie McLennan..he is so damn annoying with 'here's the thing' and never makes a point lol
Let's be real, Berube thought Maccelli was a top 6 playmaker. He actually might be – but just in the AHL. Berube thought Joshua was some stud he knew from St Louis that every single person was wrong about. Turns out only he was wrong.
TO is done,
finished for the reason already.

Trade Matthews, Nylander and rebuild.
Done
It's time for Jeff O'Neill to have a Professional Tryout with the Leafs.
Hayes going to have sore neck, he talks and knows little, has to wait for o’dog to say something then follow up on it
