Hustler is joined by Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press to break down reports surrounding Luke Schenn and a possible change of scenery, plus why Logan Stanley may have become the Jets’ most attractive trade chip ahead of the deadline.

Is Winnipeg heading toward a sell-off? Could the return for Stanley surprise fans? And how much of this is posturing versus reality?

A realistic look at the Jets’ deadline options and where things stand right now.

  1. Schenn is an asset, this is a business. He was obviously okay with letting it out that he wasn't happy etc .. Get what you can for him. Good luck and see ya later.

  2. if you sign stanley you're blocking Freij and Boumedienne, his value will never be higher than it is right now, sell him to the highest bidder. Schenn you should be happy to get a late round pick for a guy that could be waived easily.

  3. Schenn never fit with the Jets. Ever since he arrived they’ve been a slower defensive lacking team.

  4. Stanley is terrible on the defensive end, he'll never have higher value than this year, he should be dealt. A first round even late or early second would be great. Maybe both.

  5. so spends years developing Stanley, and trade him when he is actuyally turning out to be really good. I think Stan should stay unless something outragous is offered for him.

  6. Let’s not get carried away with Swedes; they’re too soft. Look at Vancouver. WE NEED MUSCLE. GRIT. CHARACTER PLAYERS. Like the Brad Marchand’s of the league.

  7. In order to use the current core to stay competitive we need to re-tool quickly. To do that the Jets need to make moves that gain draft capital and then use that along with other assets to scoop up more 1st rd picks in the next 2 drafts to fill these perennial holes in the lineup. RD1,2C,RW2,RD3

  8. -LoganStanley to SJ for a 2nd+ and he resigns 4yrs 5m per.
-Toews to either Florida/Colorado for a pick.
    – Demelo I feel can get a 2nd+
    – iafallo a 2nd
    – Nino for 2nd or 3rd get what you can for Stanley,Schenn,Miller,Pearson,Nyquist,Namestnikov.

Keep zhilkin,Chibrikov,Lambert, guys from moose. And if a trade is out there for a younger player needing change like a Kasper,Mintyukov,ConnorGeekie, Poitras,Korchinski do it.

    Connor Scheifele Villardi
    Perfetti Lowry Barron
    Lambert
    Chibrikov Zhilkin
    Koepke give guys like Yager,Barlow,JAD,Gus,Shaw,Ford,Duehr,Fagemo.

    Morrissey Salmonsson
    Samberg Pionk
    Fluery give Clague,Heinola,Philips a shot.

Get a top 3 pick and next year try again.***

With all the deadline cap we will have is biggest tool if teams want to add a 3rd team to make trades work Jets can be the 3rd team.

  9. Jets need somw young talent to push the older players so we need to trade the ufa we have to get something for them. Resigning any of them will just lead of to continue to be a mid team or worst in the near future if we have no top end prospects

  10. Jets owners would be stupid and take themselves out of a top five pick, plus getting additional top picks by selling. This is NOT the team to win the cup. The core is getting older and slower. Jets are now the oldest team in the league. Start building for the future.

  11. This is probably Luke’s last season. Playing out the season for a team that won’t make the playoffs would be tough. I think the Jets will try to do the right thing.
